1st of all i wanna start out off by saying that Manning is not about the money, he wants a contract based purely based on incentives and playing time. If he wanted a huge contract he would've signed with the Washington Redskins. Think about it for a minute, you are Peyton Manning, you have this illustrious career and only 1 Super-Bowl to show for it. Also your brother just won the Super-Bowl and he's 1 up on you. Manning wants to win more Super-Bowls, money is not a factor, he would accept the league minimum, he wants all the available cap space on what ever team he signs with to spend all the cap on other free agents that would improve his chances of success in his venture to cement his legacy. If you still think Peyton wants a (3 year)$75,000,000 contract then you couldn't be any further from the truth, Manning has been one of the highest payed players in the league for the last 10 years, and why would he want to play for another Colts roster, he wants as much talent around him as possible, he wants offensive linemen to prevent him from receiving a career ending injury, and most importantly he wants a balanced roster that has a great defense and offense. In this post i will share all the reasons that we are the right and logical option for Manning.
Manning already has his mind set on the Chiefs, he knows how good of a co-ordinator that Crennel is,he knows that defense wins championships. HE knows that if he brings a high powered offense that our defense will produce on an equal or higher level. We beat a supposedly unbeatable Green Bay Packers, if we had an offense we wouldve beat the Steelers, the Patriots, and every other team we played. The lack of offensive production really hurt our team last year. But maybe that was a blessing in disguise because if we won a lot of games Todd Haley would still be the Head Coach. He knows that he is a perfect fit and he knows that our defense would take him to the peaks of success.
We have loads of offensive talent on the roster more so than any other Manning contenders, we have Dwayne Bowe(who lead all receivers in yards after the catch last year), Jon Baldwin(A Randy Moss like Wide-Out, Sure-Handed, and Is a Match up Nightmare), We have Tony Moeaki(A dynamic recieving theat at Tight End), Dexter McCluster, Jamal Charles, and plenty of other recieving and running threats. We also have the available cap room to reunite Manning with Pierre Garcon, Dallas Clark, and Joseph Addai.
We have plenty of cap room, to build around Peyton, Manning s number 1 concern from an offensive position is protection, although he has that quick release he does not want to take any unnecessary hits. He wants an O-Line put in place that would keep him clean against the Giants, Patriots, Ravens, and other teams. He would appreciate an investment in Carl Nicks, and Levi Brown. He wants to go out with a bang not go out with career ending injury. HE does not have any higher chance of getting injured more so than any other player but that always remains a possibility. He needs an offensive line. He also has to be confident in the defense of whoever he signs with, he needs to know that his defense could take on and limit a Tom Brady and an Eli Manning. So that takes Miami and Denver out of the picture both of those teams got smashed by the Patriots last year. So we would have to make investments to improve our defense even more so than it was last year to really seal the deal, because we last to the Patriots but only due to the lack of offensive production. We need to invest in Nose Tackle through free-agency we need an immediate factor at the position and that guy is Paul Soliai, we also need a replacement for Tyson Jackson next year, and that guy is Sammie Lee Hill, who is head and shoulders above Jackson because he can actually dominate double teams and rush the passer. We could draft a Dontari Poe to replace Glen Dorsey. These moves would increase capo by $20,000,000 and that money could be better invested in suring up the defense as a whole. Paul Soliai, Dontari Poe, and Sammie Lee Hill would be an automatic upgrade over Kelly Greg, Tyson Jackson, and Glenn Dorsey any-day. We could invest that access cap into Curtis Lofton(A Quarterback of a defense, he brings a very high football I.Q to the position and would be a perfect fit opposite Derrick Johnson, he is also a great run stuffer). We could also invest in Laron Landry as a luxury pick opposite Eric Berry. Wit La' Ron we could move Berry to his original FS position and or back field with Berry, Landry, Routt and Flowers would be the leagues best and with the league becoming a passing league this a very valuable asset to the team. I just solved all of our defensive issue in 5 minutes. We need more weapons on the defensive line, we need a competent ILB next to Johnson, and we need a Strong Safety as insurance because Kendrick Lewis underwent a serious surgery that would sideline him for the 1st couple of games. Moving Berry to FS is the best possible move, and Landry brings a hard-hitting identity to our defense at the safety position opposite Berry. For offense, we sign Carl Nicks at LG, Levi Brown at RT, Steve Hutchinson at RG, and Keep Brandon Albert at LT. That is a great O-Line and our run game would benefit from all those big bodies opening up holes, and our quarterback would enjoy time in the pocket. Sign Dallas Clark to pair with Moeaki and to reunite with Manning. Re-Sign La'Ron McClain to provide another running option and a solid FB. Sign Mike Tolbert or Peyton Hillis to pair with Jamal Charles, they both complement his running style. Re-lease or Trade Cassel, and Draft Brock Osweiler and Russel Wilson to tailor behind Manning. Draft Trent Richardson. With these moves in place we are looking at a 2013 Superbowl.
Manning already decided to sign with the Chiefs, he's just buying time and testing the field. Like I said before Manning will be a Chief he know that we can put him in the best possible position to win a Super Bowl. The Cardinals are not a contender with his acquisition, Denver is not, and Miami is not. We are the best team with the most to offer talent and team wise. Bottom-Line Manning is not about the money if he could play for free he would, he wants Championships, he wants to cement his legacy, and he wants to prove to the football community at large that he is the best to ever do it not Brady, Brees, or Marino. He want to prove that he is top dogg.
