It's Thursday night. I know many of you have or will make this Thursday night one of your weekly drinking/going out nights. I'm here on our very comfortable couch at the moment, perfectly content to doze off into a deep sleep.

If that hasn't been posted on Behind the Steel Curtain.

Or whatever the steelers blog page is called, then it needs to be posted on there. I’m sure they’d get a kick out of it.

Those guys are complete D-Bags too.

On BCC during the week before their game against the Jaguars, every other sentence was about LA. Hopefully Khan put them in their place.

Fun Fact: Everbank stadium actually has more seats than Heinz Field but are tarpped to get it down to market size.

by Casey Byron Adkins on Feb 9, 2012 10:05 PM CST up reply actions

No, every other sentence was not about L.A. In fact, there was only one mention of it, and it was in the list of question posted in the ask thread by the ask thread author. Anything that came up after that was initiated by a Jaguars fan.

Tamba Hali, NFL Sack Leader, 2011

by ArrowSpread on Feb 9, 2012 9:31 PM CST via mobile reply actions

If Matt Flynn goes to cleveland how does that help our chances of moving up for RGIII?

wouldnt that make it cheaper to move up if st. louis wanted to trade the pick? cleveland seems like our worst competition if not washington, take cleveland out of the picture and that seems like a big possiblity to move up to #2 or #3 then doesnt it?

would be a real risk waiting til #3 I would hate to wait and watch that nobody jumps ahead.

just an idea any thoughts?

by kc-twitch on Feb 9, 2012 9:32 PM CST reply actions

Not happenin

We know Chiefs are cheap. They will not even think about moving up in the draft before someone else has already beat them to it.

by Nathan4288 on Feb 9, 2012 9:36 PM CST up reply actions

Tamba Hali, Flowers, Charles and DJ

would like to have a word with you. Tamba Hali is one of the highest paid players in the league. They just like to get the most for less.

They are not going to overpay Carr or Bowe especially when they could draft Blackmon or another WR or get Kirkpatrick.

by Casey Byron Adkins on Feb 9, 2012 9:42 PM CST up reply actions

If no RGIII and carr wants more than he is worth which probably will happen cause he is over rated to me im all for kirkpatrick.

anyone else see CB prince amakumaru for the giants not doing as good as the hype?

I say replace carr with CB thomas from the giants, coming off an injury might drop his price and is better than carr in my opinion.

by kc-twitch on Feb 9, 2012 9:44 PM CST up reply actions

Carr is well worth whatever money he gets, he;'s a #1 CB right along with Flowers

and the Chiefs have plenty of money to sign both Carr and Bowe, along with a couple of others in Free Agency

bring back Carr and add Soliai and we have the makings of a Top 5 Defense

Agree with that, I wish we could have a CB like Carr.

by FrankWyt on Feb 10, 2012 1:21 AM CST up reply actions

Carr and Flowers make Berry an even more lethal weapon.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to break up our defensive backfield. Chiefs have the money and Carr is worth a dollar more than anyone else wants to pay him. I’ll be pissed if they let him get away.

If it wasn’t for the accursed paycheck, would I really imprison myself in this dungeon of the human soul?

by electriclight on Feb 10, 2012 12:42 AM CST up reply actions

I say Bowe, our first and Dorsey could do it then.

Miami needs the picks so I don’t see them trading those.

by Casey Byron Adkins on Feb 9, 2012 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

Im down on bowe alot but at the end of the day he is a top 12 reciever in the league.
  1. WR’s dont just grow on trees and DGB wont be leaving missouri for a while im all for keeping bowe. Really wish baldwin would have broke out this year and showed us more it sucks jones had to mess his hand up and delay his season.

by kc-twitch on Feb 9, 2012 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

One thing about this year

is that the WR class is deep this year and CB. If Carr wants to leave we can get Kirkpatrick in the first. If Bowe asks for too much, we get Blackmon, Jefferies or McNut.

by Casey Byron Adkins on Feb 9, 2012 9:46 PM CST up reply actions

I doubt blackman falls past 5 and if we can keep bowe I dont want to spend picks to move up for blackmon.

nobody in FA is better than bowe. jefferies and mcnut dont look like #1 WR’s to me or have anywhere near the talent as bowe i would rather have broyles later than both those guys.

by kc-twitch on Feb 9, 2012 9:48 PM CST up reply actions

That is what they said

about Gabbert last year. He dropped to 10. Yes he had a bad season but look at who he had to throw to and he had a shuffling O-Line.

by Casey Byron Adkins on Feb 9, 2012 9:50 PM CST up reply actions

the only way blackmon falls past the redskins is

if RG3 is still there. and the draft would have to be
1 luck-IND
2 Kalil-STL
3 Reiff-Minny
4 Richardson- Cleveland
5 Claiborne- Tampa
6 RG3- Washington

Teams have to spend up to 99% of their cap, correct?

If so, there is no reason at all, that I can think of, for not signing Bowe or Carr, and franchising the other (if not sign both). The money is there and the other core players are locked up. Not signing them, or not trading for equal or greater value would pretty much end all confidence I have in Pioli’s ability to build a championship caliber team. And I have supported him a lot, but anything less than at least a playoff win just won’t cut it for me.

I wouldn't be a big fan of that hire

I mean I hope Sirianni gets a shot but im not sure how much he helps our current squad.

If our system was in place and we had a strong coaching staff already I would be all for it. For right now I would prefer a guy who is a veteran NFL WR. Someone that has been 100% WR focused. Sirianni has been all over the place as as a QC guy.

The Chiefs have had only three different helmets. The first was, of course, the Texans:

Then, when we were first in KC, our helmet looked like this:

Then they decided to change the logo a little bit to make our modern helmet:

But the crazy thing is that they even have Division 3 football, even Wash U:

One of my earliest fanposts was basically arguing that our logo is the best.

the ONLY slight issue i have

and Wildcat Chief and I were twittering about this as we make some new Chiefs kicks on Nike.ID. Red and Yellow screams McDonald’s to me. Red and White (black) = aww yeah.

Yeah, the all red is better.

We should only use yellow when we absolutely need a second color.

by wustl_chiefs_fan on Feb 9, 2012 11:45 PM CST up reply actions

agreed

made the yellow one just to show how it doesn’t work. already have a pair similar to this in grey suede with red swoosh and accents with 58 and 29 on the heels.

thinking about a 91 and something for these (maybe 50 if he keeps it up)

by Shanghai_Chiefs on Feb 9, 2012 11:48 PM CST up reply actions

the numbers would be yellow for these

just for the mentioned-below moderately used secondary color

but as Johnny mentioned

with Nike taking over, it would be super nice to have them pre-Chiefed on the ID site.

I think yellow is fine as a secondary color.

Yellow is to us what red is to the Giants. We use it in such moderation that we’re basically just red. If we started using more yellow I would definitely be opposed.

They're not broken images.

They’re generic images from NationalChamps.net

by Tarkus on Feb 9, 2012 11:32 PM CST up reply actions

Hmm... They looked fine when I posted.

But now that I refreshed, they did change. Bummer.

by wustl_chiefs_fan on Feb 9, 2012 11:47 PM CST up reply actions

Probably.

That sucks.

On the other hand, I now have a new profile image. Yay!

by wustl_chiefs_fan on Feb 9, 2012 11:51 PM CST up reply actions

I haven an extension

that allows me to automatically rehost images I find. That way I don’t have to worry about hotlinked images failing.

by Tarkus on Feb 9, 2012 11:53 PM CST up reply actions

Harden is a beast.

Ibaka has eight? blocks tonite.

Go Lakers!

The Thunder should be killing a team like the Kings.

Go Lakers!!!

Nobody got anything on Kobe

Me and Matt Cassel just - you up, dog!

by ChiefWarPaint on Feb 9, 2012 11:51 PM CST up reply actions

MJ said Kobe is the only one on his level

Sorry, Mr. Bird

Me and Matt Cassel just - you up, dog!

by ChiefWarPaint on Feb 9, 2012 11:57 PM CST up reply actions

You misunderstood.

Bird said he’d rather play with Kobe than anyone else playing today.

by Tarkus on Feb 9, 2012 11:59 PM CST up reply actions

Meh

Kings haven’t been playing that bad lately.

by BeauJackson on Feb 9, 2012 11:53 PM CST up reply actions

redditors or imgurs?

that's answer enough

asking if you guys are on reddit or imgur. i’m betting wustl is a redditor.

your whack-a-kitty is hosted on imgur which is the best thing since sliced bread.

As I said above, I rehost most images before posting.

I use imgur, but it’s all automatic, under the hood, using a Firefox extension.

by Tarkus on Feb 10, 2012 12:32 AM CST up reply actions

ah...

imgur is not only good for hosting, but also for a good laugh at pics/comments.

i’m checking to see if Chrome has the same extension as I can see how that would come in handy.

I got the images above from Google+.

I rarely actually visit the imgur site. Only when I need to host something off my hard drive.

by Tarkus on Feb 10, 2012 12:40 AM CST up reply actions

i really need to use + more

it was a barren wasteland when I got started on it.

going through some fanposts/shots now. everybody’s gone, but I agree with you that Hudson will be our C this year and hopefully for years to come.

IF Pioli listens to ups and we grab DeCastro and lower round RT, I will not be mad in any capacity. Its that or QB to me.

I wouldn't hate it.

I’m not on anybody’s bandwagon. I just hope they draft an immediate impact player at a position of need. He would probably fit that bill.

by Tarkus on Feb 10, 2012 12:48 AM CST up reply actions

Yup

If we’re going to be attacking on offense, short of getting QB and WRs, this is where we need the most help.

the expat formally known as Chiefsinchina

by Shanghai_Chiefs on Feb 10, 2012 12:51 AM CST up reply actions

not that we need much help with WRs

more depth would be great of course
