Great article about the key to a successful divorce between legend/team
Very well written article. This kind of loyalty and respect has diminished over the years, IMHO. With all the talk about Joe Montana in this article, I couldn't help running this question over and over again in my head. We saw Montana leave for the Chiefs, could the same happen with Manning?

most excellent article, thank you!
we know Manning isn’t going to just stay on “as is” with the Colts, and he’s not going to get that mega-bonus … now, if he’s healthy enough at the time of the cut date, he and irsay COULD work something out with another team … although it seems more likely Irsay just cuts ties with him altogether
I can’t possibly imagine Manning staying on there with all the politics and one-upmanship that’s been going on for the last month … they’ll both ask for a divorce citing irreconcilable differences and be on their merry respective ways
I really can’t see it ending any other way … hopefully they at least both put on some make-up and their best “BFF” smiles when it’s all over and done with
