Romo as a Chief?
Quickly now, slay me with words for this posting another scenario in the saga of finding a QB for the Chief''s. But stay with me as I try to explain this speculation. Odder things have happened even though the likelyhood of this happening is almost nil. Why would Romo come to KC? He married a gal from Missouri. Har Har Har. Not the best of reasons or logic. OK, let me explain this reasoning.
Recently posted was a graphic look at big spending teams versus low spending teams, and the success that was garnered from spendthrift teams. What sparked this was Jerry Jones and his pursuit of a Superbowl regardless of costs. Ergo, when I think of Peyton Manning and free agency, I think Cowboys. JJ has no qualms of stirring the pot trying to achieve success. So in this scenario the odd man out would be Tony Romo.
We need a QB who has the skillset to take us to the promised land. Romo has that IMO. He has big game experience, is tough like Matt Cassel, and has a proven arm and accuracy. He could be a very good example for Ricky Stanzi, as he had to prove himself as he was undrafted. After hearing all the incessant talk about Peyton and possibilities of where he might next play and not seeing another possibility that has just as much chance of coming true as any other, I felt duty bound to give us hope that there may well be another QB loose if Manning leaves Indy. Go Chief's!!

The time has come
When chief fans bring romo up its hard to think straight. Anywho….. Its time to go to arrowhead and have a
“manning for qb riot”
Please do not talk about my beloved chiefs and a man named Romo together.

Hes definitly better than Cassel..
But I still dont think hes the answer.. just a stop gap from bad QB play. And instead of bad QB play all the time- We will get bad QB play only in big games..
"It's still real to me dammit!"
he'd fit right in
another QB who can’t win big games
The only measure of true success in the NFL is the Vince Lombardi trophy. Anything less is a rationalization.
This thread has an odd lack of Craig from Cowtown.
This is directly up his alley.

I don’t care, I’m in the far majority, I still think Romo is a Top 5 QB.
I still think its hilarious to call a guy a choke artist who has the highest 4th quarter QB rating of all time, but whatever.

Im with you actually
I would take Romo over any QB that’s not named Manning, Brees, Rodgers or Brady.

so the other 3 quarters don't count as much?

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
i didnt say that at all
The knock on him is that he’s good until the game is on the line. People chose to remember the seahawks fumbled snap or the NYJ int, not the late game comebacks. Look at his numbers since 2007 or 2008 when he was a starter, I’ll put them up with any.
Whatever, I’m 3 hours away from a golf trip, screw football!

More likely....Sanchez...
I’d rather take a chance on a 5-6th round pick…from Ok.
No thanks
The Cowboys have wasted how many years now on that guy, with a good team. The Chiefs just need to solidify the o-line with upgrades at LG,RT and some quality depth at C. Cassel with a solid pocket and the WR core we have now could get the job done in a ball control theme. Orton with a solid OL could tear it up, and if it’s Stanzi a solid o-line can only help.

I would take Romo in a heartbeat...
But my NFC team is the Cowboys…so that would also break my heart a little…I think Romo will mature and lead his team to the playoffs and eventually the SB. Bank on it.
Nooo!!!
I live in Dallas. Romo cannot win big games!! I’ve made alott of money off that guy failing to win when it counts!!

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Being better than Cassel/Orton (who are the same mediocre QB) is not my measuring stick for a QB

Well...
that’s the measuring stick right now. As it stands, Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko, and Ricky Stanzi are our QB’s on roster.

we would be bringing in a (healthy) Peyton Manning…

So Peyton is going to chose to play in the same division as his brother?
Doubtful!!!!
Twitter: @RaiderHater86
I can see it.
While Manning doesn’t like to take the spotlight away from his brother, he doesn’t mind sharing it. Manning vs Manning in one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL? I’ll bet that is a very appealing option for Peyton.

Not only will he not play in the same division
I don’t think he’ll play in the same conference…still think he’ll be wearing red and gold next year IF Pioli does his job properly….

I've brought this up before as an option and was surprised that no one bit on it.
So I’m glad you made this post.
Tony Romo struggles in Dallas, but he’s definitely a talented QB. A large part of his struggles is that Dallas is a high pressure town. The Cowboys ALWAYS have high expectations and that falls squarely on Romo.
In Kansas City, Romo wouldn’t see even half of that pressure. The Chiefs are not a national media darling. They aren’t a sexy pick for the talking heads. And they are a serious competitor for the title maybe once or twice a decade. This is about as low pressure a situation as it gets, and I think Romo would excel here.
BUT!!!! Do not expect Romo to do it on his own. This team will have to play at a high level, and at times will have to make up for his shortcomings. Now, we do have the pieces to do that, but there are still other things that will need to happen.
