Tom Brady had a chance to join the class of Joe Montana. Instead, it looks like he's behind Eli Manning. Who isn't as good as Peyton. Whom Brady dominated. Are you confused yet?

I originally dismissed the idea of trading up for RGIII, but after looking at the trade value chart it might not cost as much as I thought.

It would probably take swapping 1st round picks with Min or Cleveland plus a #1 next year and maybe another pick (3rd or 4th). If they think he can be great I have no problem with that.

How did I make this comment in this thread?

I thought I was on the mock draft one on the front page. Oh well, ignore me.

I'm sorry B Dub didn't get a ring he deserved

But I’m glad TomTom didn’t get another ring.

Brady really choked in crunch time

something that Eli did NOT do.

That and NE could NOT block the NYG front four.

Yeah, it sounds like the commentators on ESPN are blaming Welker for not making the catch

that was a bad pass, behind his WR. And the next play Brady threw it behind the receiver again and when the receiver turned back to try and catch it he got smacked by the DB.

When you mess with Daboll, you get the horns.

by Sudden on Feb 6, 2012 10:39 AM CST up reply actions

Welker could have/likely should have

caught the ball. Yet, had Brady not floated it, and fired it in there when Welker broke open, he may have scored. Regardless of that play, Brady had Branch breaking wide open on the next play and threw a horrid ball. That play could’ve scored too. Then he missed Branch badly on the subsequent drive on the deep dig.

by SCKSChief on Feb 6, 2012 10:41 AM CST up reply actions

Exactly

Welker had his hands on that ball, but he had to completely turn around and catching that pass isn’t easy when he could’ve just lead Welker and had an easy completion.

Brady looked rattled in the fourth. Early in his career, he was defined by ice water in his veins and being the guy you want the ball in the hands of when you have a minute left and are down by a score. Now Eli is that guy.

When you mess with Daboll, you get the horns.

by Sudden on Feb 6, 2012 10:46 AM CST up reply actions

Like Chris said, Welker makes that catch 100 out of 100 times.

I put it on Welker. If New England can’t win with Brady how can we win with Cassel.

by OJ In Nevada on Feb 6, 2012 10:48 AM CST up reply actions

Obviously we need better receivers than Welker,

and better guards than Mankins and Waters.

No

NE needs WRs OTHER than Welker. KC has better WRs (all said and done) than NE does.

Hmmm...

Bowe – Hernandez
Breaston – Welker
Baldwin – Branch
Moeaki – Gronk

No

They have nothing on the outside. Nothing.

They work the middle wonderfully with Gronk, Hernandez and Welker. No deep threats or any threats from the WRs.

No what?

I didn’t express an opinion, just a list.

Well, then I kindly reject the list with the "no"

Way to split the hairs. LOL ;)

Really, I'd have a tough time picking one receiving group over the other.

It seems like KC should have the advantage outside and deep, but I don’t actually see us pass outside and deep very often. Baldwin and Moeaki are big unknowns, kinda just have to judge them on potential.

Anyway, I wasn’t saying <, >, or =, I just listed side by side who I think are the closest counterparts on each team. If I had to pick sides….

Bowe > Hernandez
Breaston < Welker
Baldwin = Branch
Moeaki < Gronk

by Brsrkr on Feb 6, 2012 1:43 PM CST up reply actions

All I'm saying is that KC has legitimate WR on the outside thirds of the field

Add one more real TE and this WR corps is arguably better than NE. Add to that the fact that with Charles KC has a running game and suddenly this is a good offense.

In accordance with the prophecy

by SCKSChief on Feb 6, 2012 2:55 PM CST up reply actions

Oh yeah, I don't think we're far away.

I was mostly thinking about how good NE’s receivers are, not that ours are bad.

Baldwin has to pan out and Moeaki has to stay healthy, AND Bowe needs to stay in KC….I don’t think we’d even need a second pass-catching TE, Baldwin should be able to make those post-up catches. Those guys plus Breaston and Charles could be about the best starting five skill players in the league.

by Brsrkr on Feb 6, 2012 4:06 PM CST up reply actions

It's on them both

Brady could have and should have made a better throw. He didn’t need to back-shoulder it if he gets it off (on a rope) when Welker breaks open.

It was crazy--my buddy Mike and I kept noticing Brady flinching in the pocket.

He felt heat, even when it WAS blocked…they weren’t Cassel-esque flinches but he did not stand as strongly in the pocket as he used to, especially as the game progressed.

Didn't bother reading the article

mostly because the tag line is ridiculous. Eli Manning & the Giants (as a team) played better than Brady and the Patriots. That’s the bottomline.

Saying Tom Brady is behind Eli after being in 5 Super Bowls and winning 3 skews the facts a little doesn’t it?

Manning is great in my book

I’d rank him up there with the Elites now

Remeber early in his career when they wanted to run him out of NY because he didn't show emotion on the sideline

Saying he wasn’t a leader and didn’t care and he needs to be more like Peyton

Ironic though

because it is precisely that even tempered demeanor no matter the situation that is what makes him great. Peyton always seemed to press in big moments, like he was smart enough to recognize when it was a big moment. Eli just seems to affably stupid that he doesn’t realize when it is a big moment and goes ahead and treats it like he’s playing catch with a diabetes-addled 8 year old during an NFL play 60 commercial.

Peyton's a middle child,

Eli is the goofy, spoiled youngest child.

Hey, know who else has that Eli type demeanor? Flacco.

The guy can play ball thoe

Some of the passes he made , were just simply perfect . He really made some fanststic throws in the game , specally at the end when they were behind . I mean the recievers did a great job also , but he got the ball where it needed to be

by chiefsman! on Feb 6, 2012 11:03 AM CST via mobile up reply actions

Yup, he's good.

If they'd let Bert play quarterback, he might turn out OK.

But this 400 yard game followed up by a 60 yard game BS…that’s on Cam Cameron. Better balance would make Rice and Williams AND Flacco and the wides’ better.

Agreed

He’s tremendous under pressure . Two super bowls where he leads the team at the end to win. If there’s a qb that I could have in the last few minutes of a big game , it’s him
