Technically not the "final" draft order, right?
We still have to do the coin flip at the combine, don’t we?
Secondary and OLB for the Pats.
They could trade for our pick and have their choice of Kirkpatrick or Upshaw.

I thought the coin toss was at the combine?
The final draft order is set
Also, I don’t mean to be rude, but I take mocks a lot less seriously if they have RG3 going 3 instead of 2. It would be incredibly dumb of the Rams to allow the Vikes to get the ‘jackpot’ of trading back…and I highly doubt they will.
Rams might want Kalil, if their new regime decides to cut bait on their former LT pick(s).

The difference is 400 points
or equal to a 2nd round pick

What, the Seahawks/Vikes trade?

That looks more like 1000 points.

trading with the Vikings vs trading with the Rams

Of course any team would rather not have to trade up to #2...
B/c it will cost less to get to #3, but obviously, there is that whole chance of him not being there at #3.
Ah.
I think a bidding war for RG3 might blow the chart out of the water.

I don't know we have to go crazy over him
but a reasonable trade

I think to avoid going crazy, we'd have to trade a player that the other suitors don't have.
It’s a sellers’ market. We’d have to offer something different, or over-pay.

While most think Kalil is the best OT
He’s not a complete consensus #1.
Also, they would have a decent shot at getting him at #4 if they move back to the Rams slot.
Regardless, even if they want an OT (which they should) it would be smarter to move back to 4, 6 or 11/12 and get the bounty of picks and take OT at that point.
The Rams aren’t a LT away from being great. They have a lot of holes.
Agreed, just speculating.
Honestly, 95% of the interest I have in mock drafts is just seeing what other people think of the prospects. Trying to project trades is pretty academic.
That said….the Pats’ two first rounders would add up pretty closely to our first and fifth rounders……

Agreed
Projecting trades really is a waste of time. I have no idea who the Rams will trade with, I just think if they are back to being a competent organization, they will be trading that pick.
If you want to not include trades in a Mock, that’s fine too…
Huh? You mean, why would they want our first pick?
For one of the best corners or pass rushers. As opposed to the non-covering safety and second-tier pass rusher this mock has them taking.

Yeah, that's my third-favorite option.
- RG3
- Trade for 2013 picks to be used for a 2013 QB
- Trade back for late first/second-day picks for RT, OG, S, etc
Loser Option – Pick somebody at 11/12.

And what's the fascination with Sanu? Where'd this guy come from?

I think he is suppose to be this years version of Tory Smith

CBS says he runs a 4.57...?
Smith is a speed guy.

A couple things going through my brain
If Seattle can move up to get RG3, so can the Chiefs.
If the Chiefs are only going to get better, this might be the highest pick we get for awhile…which has more worth for trading up for a future QB.
Maybe the time is now to get RG3 and have him sit a year behind Cassel.
yep
that would be an excellent plan with our new QB guru Offensive Coordinator on board

Only alternative I'd prefer would be if we could trade down for 2013 picks and come out ahead in value.
But I agree, this high pick is hopefully going to be a rarity in the next few years, so we should put it toward the most important position on the field.

If we trade for RG3
I would hope he is the starter and Cassel sits behind him.

Another thing I've been thinking about
I just have a feeling that Adams OT is going to be a bust like Tyson Jackson. I’m pretty sure Adams has been hurt a couple times in college and also had some drug paraphernalia charges brought against him (not convicted). Just seems like a character issue kid that is injury prone.
No doubt he’s got talent though.
Well I wouldn't mind getting another bust like Tyson Jackson
by Steve_Chiefs on Feb 6, 2012 10:38 AM CST up reply actions
So from your comment
can I assume that you think Jackson isn’t a bust?
He was pretty good at shutting down the run
he just don’t get the sacks which I think he will improve on next year

I think he's adequate
but a bust for a #3 pick.
Gonna be hard pressed to convince
anyone here Jackson is a bust. 3-4 defense, Google it, get educated.
Dx3: Draft David DeCastro
You know it's gonna be a weird draft when there's only 4-1/2 OTs projected in the entire first round,
And 2-1/2 of them are consensus right tackles.

I'm all about tOSU college wise
Mike Adams though? Over Jonathon Martin and David DeCastro? I’d rather trade down and take Devon Still in that scenario. Or, according to this draft, trade down and still take DeCastro. Not a fan of this mock.
Dx3: Draft David DeCastro
Ridiculous pick
Unbelievable to think any team would roll the dice on a projected RT with that much talent left on the board.
Considering the options we have....
Would you consider this a VALUE draft or a NEED draft? It seems that we’re only about four players away from having some serious potential. Not to mention free agency this year, KC will garner more interest from other FAs. Now i know- you always go for value during the draft. But……..
