We never really include the New York Giants when talking about dynasties but two Super Bowls in the last four years makes you pause. The Giants of course beat the New England Patriots last night in Super Bowl XLVI which means the players, coaches and fans got to have what is the greatest feeling sports can possibly bring.
It's something I can't even fathom. My team winning a championship? I don't even know what it would feel like. We've been blogging around here for five and a half years and at the end of the day winning a Super Bowl is what we're talking about all the time, 24/7/365. That's a lot of effort for one goal.
Alas, the Kansas City Chiefs did not win it all. The Giants players after the game were obviously very, very happy. Here are a few reactions from key guys via Twitter (@nflnetwork, @greggrosenthal, @sbnation)
- QB Eli Manning: "There's not a better place to win than New York."
- WR Mario Manningham on the pressure of final drive. "Ain't no pressure. It's football."
- RB Brandon Jacobs: "We decapitated them. They can't wear that crown no more. Can't wear that crown no more, baby."
There's gonna be a lot of talking in New York this offseason.
