no one knows yet

he hasn’t even been released by the colts. I find it disgusting that that this even news. Yes, Im sure the redskins will make a big play for him but to say “very likely” before anybody knows what exactly is going to happen with him and colts is pretty farfetched

Yep

Reporters throw crap at the wall. If it happens the way they guess then they can say they had the scoop. Redskins are as logical a choice as anyone anyway…

Not really...IMO

there is no way he is going to go to the same division as Eli…he will be looking a a division that is easy to win so he can make the playoffs each year….AFC West give him the best shot ….thats not me being a Homer, its just fact…..

well, Peyton IS very competitive ... and if he thinks he's still "got it" why not?

beat up on Lil Brother twice a year … solidify his “place in history” certainly best within the family … that much more “motivation” to lead his team to the Super Bowl to silence those saying how good Eli is

from that standpoint it makes complete sense that he’d go to the Redskins

i dont think they look at it that way

its not a battle between the two of them…its them against the rest of the league…I think their Ultimate goal would be to go head to head in a Super Bowl. ..you cant do that if you are in the same division or even in the same conference….that would be an EPIC Super Bowl game…could you imagine?

beating up on lil brother? best within the family?

he may be the more popular of the two, but Eli now has one more ring than Peyton, and he’s younger.

If he is VERY COMPETITIVE, he’s going somewhere he has a good chance to get a ring. The Redskins are not that somewhere.

No way!

A quarterback hungry team is the likely landing spot for Peyton??? Now THAT is news!

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

BS....

Peyton Manning is NOT playing for MONEY…he is playing for SUPER BOWL RINGS…..AND he will not go compete with his brother in the SAME DIVISION….he will look for an easy path to the playoffs EACH year….

not to mention, eli or no eli,

that division is usually pretty difficult to win. i do think you’re right though. i just dont see peyton and eli in the same division. not to mention, how’s peyton gonna run all those rollout plays that shanny likes to run? the guy runs like a duck.

by Chris Sembower on Feb 5, 2012 2:34 PM CST up reply actions

exactly...thats why i dont think he will go to the AFC EAST either

that makes the ath to the playoffs too hard when you are playing against New England…..if you cant win your own division then you have to jockey for position for the wild card….Now, a division like the AFC WEST will be NICE AND EASY to win for the next 3-4 years and give him 3 or 4 more chances in the playoffs to win another SB….

i agree.

i think peyton in kc makes sense on almost every level that there is, including some that have nothing to do with football specifically.

I think so too...

everything makes sense to me….but I dont know if im looking at things with Homer glasses on….do I think KC is better than they really are?…i see the potential here more than a non Chiefs fan?…IDK..

But…for me, i see a great running game when charles returns, a better than average WR corp, a potential stud TE with Moeaki, a top 10 defense….small market team with a lot of unspent cash, a respectable, laid back coach that he would get along well with(like Dungy) and a division that was just won with an 8-8 record….Manning alone will get you at least 4-5 more wins a season….that would have put us at 11-5 or 12-5 this year……it ALL makes too much sense to me

Unfortunately

I do think we all have our homer glasses on a bit. I would like to think Manning would see the potential. But I’m just not so sure he would see the same rosie picture we are seeing.

we'll see ... funny though, first "sources" say he's not close to ready and will probably retire (Jason Cole story)

then the “Manning Wish List” with Miami at the top (from some Florida paper) and now this, to the Redskins (more close sources)

more propaganda, perhaps from Manning himself … Irsay’s right, the guy is a politician deep down, and he knows what to say and when to say it, or not to say …

I’ll believe he’s signed with someone when it happens

Isn't this tampering by the Redskins?

Peyton is still under contract and if people close to Manning are saying Redskins, it appears someone has reach out to him.

Nicknames I have coined:

Jamaal Charles = 'Haley's Comet'
Shaun Smith = 'Big Nasty'
Kelly Gregg = 'Old Gregg'

but I kinda figured he may be..

I’d be shocked if Manning ends up anywhere other than the Phins. Ross will pay out the ass for him, and he will have a better chance of winning there.

by Topchief1 on Feb 5, 2012 4:05 PM CST reply actions

Doubtful

They’re going through a transition with a new coach and a new offensive system and a new defensive alignment for which they need to plug alot of holes to make it work.Too much change in Miami I htink for Manning to say to himself “oh yea, they’re ready to win”.

Not to mention

I doubt he wants to play brady twice a year just to make the playoffs.

while i think it's way too early to decide peytons new team

lets look at a few things.

peyton could go to reds but then he’s got a tough shot at the division muchless playoffs, gotta beat up on lil brother twice a year and hard feelings will amount you know.

the chances of KC landing peyton are more likely than not, real slim. i would love manning but i think the odds he lands in KC are very slim.

now say the reds do get manning, that improves our chances of getting Orton back since it was rumored the redskins were interested in orton. surely they wont go after orton and manning both if they got one or the other especially if they land manning

both of 'em gonna be someplace ... that much is for sure

one thing about Orton: we already know he can throw, even if he’s “no Peyton Manning”

Well that is not surprising..

Washington goes after every aging free agent that is out there. I am sure they will not be the only suitors for Pey Pey though.

by KrazyChiefsfan on Feb 6, 2012 12:32 AM CST reply actions

Washington might want him, but I find it highly unlikely that Peyton wants them.

only way he becomes a Redskin is if the only thing he cares about is the money.

he cares about winning, so too bad Skin fans.
