A number of amazing NFL players and coaches headline the 2012 NFL Hall of Fame class, including two long time Kansas City Chiefs players - Will Shields and Willie Roaf. This is Will Shields' first year of Hall of Fame eligibility. Bill Parcells is another big name among the finalists.
Other finalists include Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jerome Bettis, Oakland Raiders receiver Tim Brown, Minnesota Vikings receiver Cris Carter, defensive end Chris Doleman, linebacker Kevin Greene, 49ers/Cowboys linebacker Charles Haley, Seahawks defenstive tackle Cortez Kennedy, Patriots/Jets running back Curtis Martin, Buffalo Bills WR Andre Reed, Cardinals/Rams DB Aeneas Williams, 49ers owner Ed DeBartolo, Jr., Steelers corner Jack Butler and Lions/Redskins guard Dick Stanfel.
As is tradition, these 17 finalists will be pared down this evening at 5:30 p.m. ET to between four and seven players.

i heard they might come out of retirement once peyton manning gets here
will the chiefs ever draft a Qb in the first round, not since todd blackledge in 83. and the chiefs could of had marino. OH well atleast 65 toss power trap worked for KC, it should be wide open red. Hank stram still the man.
Nope. That was only to be if Al Saunders, the greatest offensive mind in NFL history and the man solely responsible for their success, was on board as offensive coordinator.
Now that we have Brian “Forrest Gump but not as likable” Daboll, the whole thing is ruined.

With this one, the sarcasm is strong

Will Shields and Willie Roaf should go into together.
There are some great names on that list though.
It will be tough, but in necessary fashion, hopefully Shields and Roaf block everyone else from getting in this year.
After all, you can’t get by those guys.

It would be a great way to start out the Kansas Chiefs Super Bowl campaign for 2012
It would be unbelievable.
Every guy on that list deserves a credible chance to get in, but I’m a little selfish when it comes to the Chiefs. Those other guys can’t wait a year.
There is absolutely zero reason that Will Shields is not a first ballot Hall of Famer, the first time, every time. Though I am a Chiefs and Husker fan, so my opinion is biased. Will Shields played guard better than anyone I have ever really watched play, by far.
Willie Roaf was due last year, so it is only right he get in this season. How cool will this be?

I am thinking we will see a full class of:
Shields
Roaf
Bettis
Brown
Reed
Carter
and De Bartolo Jr.

Who I think should(not will) go in.
Shields
Roaf
Kennedy
Haley
Reed

Yep
AlbertBreer: Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Eddie DeBartolo, Kevin Greene and Will Shields were the first 5 out of HOF consideration.
Ugh, this is really upsetting. There are some great names out there though.

Shiekds Didn't Make It
Very disappointed that Will won’t go in on his first time. I thought he diserved it. One of the best Guard in history.
Jerome
He absolutely deserved it.
The Hall of Fame continues its quest to lose credibility.
The "big uglies" never get the recognition they deserve unless they play in a major market.

that's sad
