Pitchforking Our GM

Are you a guilty suspect? If so, then what is your rationale in 25 words or less?

As fans, we will all pitchfork the organization every once in awhile.

Especially, if it seems necessary to do so. Is hiring Brian Daboll a reason to pitchfork the GM?

Not necessarily, but it isn’t anything to commend him for either.

In doing some digging on the guy, he seems like he would make some positive changes, but not be the world beater that we need. But let’s face it, the Chiefs are going to have a ton of weapons on offense next season and it won’t take Bill Walsh to put some points on the board. Especially, if Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki come back healthy and strong.

The interesting thing is that Brian Daboll may have wanted Kyle Orton last summer during the whole Miami fiasco, so it will be interesting to see if the Chiefs try and keep him in place.

Todd Haley getting fired aside… this is still a team with a great foundation and so much talent. These coaching changes are just what the doctor ordered… along with a full offseason. It can be doom and gloom if we want it too, but if you actually look at the situation, it isn’t so bad.

Put down your pitchfork and get out some popcorn.

He's not a pitchforker.

I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.

I've had my moments of displeasure with the Chiefs...

But I love this team and only want to see them succeed. Is Brian Daboll the perfect hire? No

Is he a huge upgrade of Bill Muir? Potentially, he has more experience and a new set of eyes to watch the film. That alone will help, because the biggest problem with this team in 2011 was scheming game plans IMO. Hopefully Daboll can bring some of that.

There was no slam dunk pick at OC available IMO, this is where we are and there is plenty of reason for excitement.

Rec the GIFs above. Awesome!

One thing though.

When you say “world beater”, do you mean Al, or do you have someone else in mind?

And I cannot remember any so called “world beater” OCs that obviously made their team a sudden success. Well, besides Todd Haley of course. :)

World Beater

I wasn’t really referring to anyone in particular. Al Saunders would have been great, but it also would have been a sentimental hire from the Chiefs past and that didn’t work out to well with Gunther.

There was really no world beaters available this offseason anyway. I would have loved Bruce Arians, Al Saunders, Hue Jackson, Tom Clements but outside of those guys no one really stood out above everyone or even in those four.

No matter who the Chiefs got, they still would have to fit in with the team, implement their system, hire position coaches and be able to call plays well enough to win in the NFL.

Will Brian Daboll fit with the Chiefs?
He is familiar with the staff, so probably.
Can he implement a system?
Well he just did it with two different teams in the past four years, so he probably learned a lot in that time.
Can he hire position coaches?
He has been around enough, he probably has a list of guys he trusts to help him out in the NFL.
Can he win games in the NFL calling plays?
He has one some games and he sure beat the tar off the Chiefs with a creative game plan. That is the thing that excites me the most… creativity. The thing the Chiefs lacked completely in 2011 outside of the second half of the Indy game…

I don’t know if he can win consistently, but I’m willing to give him a shot.

I'm think of writing an fan post about all of this Brian Daboll stuff in a different way that everyone else is.

But I would say one thing that may have impressed Romeo is the Chiefs – Dolphins game.

Here is a defensive Coach that thought he knew his former co-workers game plan upside down and backwards and got totally blown out of the water by him. That had to impress Romeo a little bit… what say you?

That's assuming I am a guilty suspect...

Who doesn’t need a good pitchforking to keep them on their toes?

Quit trying to recreate new England

Set the Chiefs way into motion. You can keep trying to polish up turds from Gillette stadium but they were all flushed for a reason. I’m tired of all this “shit”

Waiting all this time to hire a mediocre OC
Thats like watching a movie with a shitty ending
