Brian Daboll inside track to Miami's free agent's

With the new edition of our OC we have a great opportunity to to some insite of Miami's upcoming free agent's that will hit the open market in March.

Miami's free agents:

1). Chad Henne, QB, Dolphins. Age: 27. Chad Henne has some solid physical tools, but it appears as if he'll never have the mental aspect of football down. Still, I'd like to see what he could do with some really good coaching.

2). Vernon Carey, G, Dolphins. Age: 31. There were some questions about Vernon Carey entering the 2011 campaign, but he held up pretty well at his new position. He gave up three sacks and was whistled for only one penalty all year.

3). Paul Soliai, NT, Dolphins. Age: 28. At 6-4, 355 pounds, Paul Soliai is a monstrous, run-stuffing nose tackle. He made $12.3 million with the franchise tag this season.

4). Kendall Langford, DE/DT, Dolphins. Age: 26. Kendall Langford is a really good, young five-tech who excels in both stopping the run and putting pressure on the quarterback. He's a key piece of Miami's 3-4 stop unit who will have to be retained.

5). Phillip Merling, DE/DT, Dolphins. Age: 27. Phillip Merling could barely do anything this year coming off an Achilles injury. Perhaps he can bounce back and finally live up to his potential next year.

Could this mean that Glenn Dorsey days are truly numbered with this defensive free agent talent and one year left on his contract? Is a trade coming for him this off season?? Looks like there is some opportunity to upgrade and ad depth to some positions for us.

Let me know what you think.

Mentioned in another thread

But Daboll was a guy who, with the rest of the staff in Miami, was after Orton last year. I’ve had a couple of the later-in-the-season Dolphin games on this morning and I can see why. Orton would be the ideal QB to run what Daboll used last year. Now with new players and a new situation obviously things might change a bit in his offense but a run oriented offense with alot of play action is exactly what Orton excels at.

That's what's has made me most calm about this signing

He had a lot of MIA fans backing him.

I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.

Two Miami QBs too

And I bet Reggie Bush would have good things to say as well. Daboll has to be drooling at the idea of Charles here.

Soliai would be the only one I'd be excited about

But, I’m not sure how a new OC would lead to Dorsey being gone

by stagdsp on Feb 4, 2012 1:11 PM CST via mobile reply actions

Soliai, Nicks, Carr, Bowe ... some expensive guys out there that we all seem to want

that would be ideal.

To Hall of Famers on the coaching staff.

I don’t care if he didn’t get in today. Shields is a Hall of Famer.

Thanks for editing my post

I beleive it’s in the best interest of the Chiefs to lock up Carr long term. Let Bow test the waters or tag him for a year. Great corners are hard to find and we are building and “Championship Defense”…. This would be money we’ll spent!! Miam has 2 key DT in free agency one was franchised last year so can they aford both this year?? I think we will get either 1 of them to plug in as our DT spot.

not a problem on the editing, that's what they don't pay me for :-)

I hope we get both Carr and Bowe back in the fold, among others

Geaux Chiefs!

You should put Peyton Hillis up there too

I know he isn’t from Miami, but his best year was under Daboll, could want to get back to that. Imagine a backfield of Charles/Hillis/McCluster. Yikes

We will definitely be able to match the highest bidder. He will not be getting big money
