Brian Daboll willing to embrace the unorthodox
I feel much better now, too. This link is in the last fanshot article (The Phinsider). I'm encouraged not just because of Daboll's willingless to embrace the unorthodox but reading about how he improved the Dolphins offense. If we improve our line, he should have better talent than he's used to as well.
"That willingness to embrace something different isn't the only reason I like Daboll. Let's face it, he was ripped for how terrible the Browns were scoring points last year. Dolphins fans were screaming at Tony Sparano for trying to improve his offense by hiring the guy who ran one of only two offenses in the NFL that scored fewer points than Miami last year.
Yes, Cleveland was 31st in the NFL in scoring. The Dolphins were 30th. But despite that seemingly fair point, Daboll has injected some life into the Miami offense this year.
With Daboll guiding him, Matt Moore has shown steady improvement. And the Miami offense that was 30th in scoring (just ahead of Cleveland) is tied for 22nd this year while the Browns are 28th."

I like the improvement
I wish we were 22nd ranked, wed probably have made the playoffs.
I hope Pioli upgrades the OL this season, since Daboll taylors the offense to the players I wonder if we keep the ZBS scheme or scrap it, with Lilja and Hudson currently on board we may keep it but then again it all depends on what we do in the offseason.
Me and Matt Cassel just - you up, dog!
God, I hope not. The only zone-blocking scheme that works is the Texans.
It doesn’t matter if we have little backs, they can run just as well behind a bruising line. Look at Chris Johnson, Thurman Thomas, C.J Spiller (college), and Reggie Bush. They all ran behind huge power blocking schemes and did great.

Darren McFadden was terrible bEhind a ZBS line
A PBS line doesnt play to Jamaal’s strengths and all of his weaknesses. Yeah sure Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson looked good behind our PBS OL early 00’s, but that was behind two HOFers and a lerennial all-pro among other good players.

sounds good
Run first, throw in some trick plays, form the offense to fit the skill players on the roster.

laCanfora just said Zorn is staying
Maybe that was part of the decision to bring Daboll in… keep zorn and not have to start over?

They have never worked together,
So I wonder why that would have been a factor.
It is probably more likely that Jim Zorn never really gave a hard ultimatum to the KC Star, but it was reported that way anyway. In which case, sorry Jim Zorn.
Meh...
