Manning to CHIEFS could be Pioli's version of Peterson's Montana to CHIEFS
Can you imagine the tix sales? The jersey sales? The Prime Time games, Monday night football games, The ESPN coverage of our beloved CHIEFS, Not to mention the CHIEFS would automatically become a front runner for a Super Bowl bid with all of our returning starters. If we can sign our own Bowe and Carr, dabble a bit in the free agency pool for a NT and RG and have another good draft, I would think Pioli could have this team looking like a contender. Thoughts? How could this be a bad move if Peyton is healthy?

indeed, why not do performance-based salary for all players

I'm not anti-Manning per se ... the guy is great, awesome, fabulous, best-ever, etc etc ad nauseum
when he’s truly healthy … I think it would be completely asinine to sign the guy for 20 mil based on speculation, and as of now that’s all anyone has regarding his arm strength, and if he’s not healthy it’s a complete waste of money that could be better spent on Free Agents, including our own guys
sure, we could wait til he’s healthy … IF … he’s healthy, and wait and wait and wait and then what? a weak-armed Manning is no more help than a strong-armed Cassel (although I’ll gran Manning would make better decisions, even if he can’t make the actual throws)
and yes, the neck surgery still concerns me … regardless of what his doctors said
seriously, why is it that so many people discount the actual experiences of others even here on AP? WorL4Chiefs, among others, has said more than once that she’s had a similar operation and it would be foolish for Manning to take the field … others here have said the same, and Jason Cole referenced not one but two league physicians who said that also … seems that way too many fans believe only what they want to believe, even when presented with knowledge contrary to what they wish to believe

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
I DO understand that other that have had the surgery may have some better insight
I am not so sure those people are dealing with the TOP NOTCH doctors that Manning is dealing with…He is a multimillionare, the Colts owner is a BILLIONAIRE….Manning is getting much better care than the average patient….He has even traveled to Europe for stem cell proceedures…his therapy and rerehabilitation is being done with the best doctors money can buy….
All I can say is, Manning is a very very smart individual…I dont believe that he would risk paralysis at this point in his career by going against good logic…..“everybody else”is claiming his is not ready, that his strength is not there, that “one hit” and he is done. They ALL have the “inside knowledge”…..I have never heard Manning say any of this. In fact, he says the complete opposite…and now, apparently so do HIS doctors….So, I have to take the man for HIS word, and forget everybody elses “opinion” on the subject…
Clark Hunt and Scott Pioli need to IMPRESS me in 2012....No Settling this year Chiefs Fans!!
The best football memory I have growing up was when the Chiefs came to Buffalo for a preseason game, and I got to go. It was the only Chiefs game I’ve been to, and Joe Montana only player something like the first series or two, but I was beyond thrilled ot get to say that I got to see Joe Montana play in person, esp. for the chiefs!
way cool!
