It is not the offensive line! Are you blind?

I can't believe some people are blaming our QB problems on the offensive line! Are you people watching the same game that I am? Maybe you're just in love with Cassel and shouldn't be! Let me explain. Cassel was sacked 22 times in the 9 games he played in. I admit, that is alot and at first you think the offensive line is terrible.

Then, Kyle Orton comes in for the last 3 games. He is sacked only 1 time. ONE time!!! Come on people! It's the same offensive line that Cassel was behind. Obviously we can rule out the offensive line theory.

Here is what's going on: Cassel holds onto the ball way too long. The reason why is he can't make his reads correctly. If his first read is covered, then he's screwed. He doesn't have the arm strength to go deep so that's why we can never keep a deffense honest. Opposing teams know Cassel won't and can't go deep so they can concentrate on rushing him or covering the short stuff. It's as simple as that. Plus when the team starts to lose confidence in the QB, they're not going to play as well. Not because they're not giving their best effort, but because that's what happens when things start to go bad.

The poor play of one player can rub off on other players. In essence, when the other (10 offensive players) know they are about to go 3 and out, of course they're not going to have attitude it takes to win games. Our main problem is the QB. We need to make some sort of move at QB. Anybody different would be a good start because it means that the front office has acknowledged there is a problem there.
