free agents id like to see signed (if possible)...thoughts?
Qb- manning, orton
Rb- Tolbert, bush, forte, hillis
Wr- bowe, Lloyd, mike Wallace
Ol- nicks, bell, grubbs
dl- soliai, franklin, bunkley
lb- ej Henderson, belcher, d’quell Jackson
db- carr
firstly, id love to have manning if we can make him work. but i also know if we get him, that doesnt leave much cap room for anything else. so if need be, i can stick with cassel/orton/stanzi. at rb, id loooove to see forte but chicago will probably franchise him. if thats the case i say we sign tolbert or bush, whichever we can first. at wr, i want bowe back. plain and simple. i think hes coming back, but no one can ever tell. if we let him walk, i say we make a big push for mike wallace. good hands and incredibly fast. would fit in well with our offense. if hes gone, look for lloyd. i wanted him when stl picked him up. he had a huge season under mcdaniels 2 years ago and just hasnt really been looked at. similar size and speed to bowe. just saying could be a much cheaper version of bowe if he walks. at ol, we MUST sign nicks if no lets him go. the guy is a beast and allows us to sign someone in the draft as a br replacement. bell or grubbs would also be decent pickups. at dl i think we should look heavily at soliai from miami. i think hes going to be halfway cheap and does a great job of stuffing up the middle. franklin would also be a good fit here even though he had a drop off year this year. makes him cheaper in my opinion. at lb, i think we can sign belcher and be set. hes good on special teams and holds his own at lb. but if we can upgrade here then so be it. and at db, i think were set right now. i want to sign carr and have wanted it. but at the end of the day, we found someone for much cheaper than carr that can do the same things he can. so if we let him walk i think we would be safe. however, id like to have him back in a chiefer jersey next year.
those are my wants for this offseason. what do you think?

Don't take this the wrong way, as it's not directed just at you
But I’m getting a little sick of those who never do fanposts themselves criticizing others.
Just remember it’s way easier to criticize than do.

Again, not directed specifically at you (although it probably seems that way)
I’ve seen a lot of it lately. People not replying in any way other than to say “edit” or “fanshot” or whatever…

And apparently no, I didn't see it before an edit
At least if it was different than it is now…

Ah I see
Again, sorry if it seemed like I was singling you out. It seems as though your purpose was different than I interpreted it.

Well then, in my official capacity as an APer who has done two fanposts ever.
This needs to be edited.

my bad.
i deleted it originally but my computer didnt like that idea i guess. i must have to do it twice to make sure its done. haha
A decent list, although I'd add Pouha to your list of NTs
If you break it up a little bit into smaller paragraphs next time, it’d be an easier read.
The only problem with Mike Wallace is that he’s a deep threat. And as of right now, we don’t have a QB that can take advantage of a deep threat.

i thought about pouha
and i do think hes a bad addition to this list.
As far as wallace goes, i think the key would be to get the ball out quickly. i know we wont throw it 60 yards downfield, but a quick 40 yard pass with a single move explosive route like wallace is capable of could at least keep defenses honest more than they are now.
I thought the problem with Wallace is that he is a RFA not UFA and Pitt has said if they can not come to a long term deal
They will put a 1st round tender on him…

RB
B. Green-Ellis. That is my pick. I have been a fan of him since he was a freshman at IU before he transferred to Ole Miss. Doesn’t fumble too.
NT – Soliai (my pick)
LB – Jackson (rather draft one)
OL – Nicks (too much $)
WR – Bowe
CB – draft one
QB – Manning (rather make a blockbuster trade for RG3)

im not a green-ellis fan
especally being as hes had a prolific passing game to back him up. i think if he doesnt have that (ie kc) then he’d struggle as a rb. i think charles can do everything GE can do and if we bring in a bigger back then we’d be able to improve our red zone efficiency and fight for that 3rd and short much easier.
No
I’m the one that got Stevie Johnson fired up b/c I made a comment to him about blowing out EB’s knee and asked him if God made him do it. That got on Around the Horn.

I saw that....good work.
Please stop with the ‘pushy’ tweets to the players the Chiefs could use though….like idontknow….Carr. We want him to sign with US, not run him outta town. ;-)
Also
I was one voice. Sick of his complaining about the contract… I put it out there b/c I much rather have a guy like Routt vs. keep Carr and pay him #1 DB money. I was saying if he really wanted to be a Chief – he would have signed a deal already.
Can’t expect KC to push in all that money on 3 DBs. They already have a ton of money in on Flo/Berry. Use that money to get a NT/OLine/QB(Manning)/RB/TE – not a 3rd best DB. I’m sure he can get #1 DB money on the market – so he needs to go for it and stop acting like he is surprised KC isn’t giving that to him.

RGIII may be exposed at the combine
for being about three inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter than he is listed…
It is time to anoint the Stanzi. He is The One.
3 inches shorter huh...

who cares
about height. hes a great accurate passer with a good arm and great feet. he makes multiple reads and has shown the ability to extend plays. id love to have him but dont want to sell the farm for any one player.
they was making a big deal about it on sportsnation today.
I been a robert griffen III fan before he blew up this year, I liked him last year and was saying I would like to have him, didnt see him being this high a pick or doing what he did this year though with the radar on him as much, as a fan of a big 12 team I seen him more than most other fans though.
The Raven I'd like to see is Cory Redding.

I wouldn't mind seeing them get some offensive linemen, but we can address that through the draft.
Rb- Tolbert or Hillis
dl- Soliai
Draft guard and tackle in draft like DeCastro or Cordy Glenn, followed by Sanders.
i like decastro and sanders for sure
but i think sanders would be more for depth than anything. a young guy like nicks doesnt come along very often and when they do, we should take advantage of it. we have plenty of cap room and can give the man what hes wanting for long term. he solidifies our guard at his position for at least 6 years making us very solid at multiple spots….and is also proven which we definately need.
nicks is looking for record money, you can get close enough production for half the price with another G I will pass.
that was a quote from pro football focus on sports radio 610 today around 4 PM
uh no.
thats the dumbest thing i think ive heard. the man is a beast. is young. will anchor that position for years to come. he deserves a ton of money. hes a sure thing unlike guys in the draft. who else can you find with his skills at his age? were a running team. we have to have a great line to make that happen.
I dont think I would call anyone at pro football focus dumb.
when you think about it, you can go get mathis for half he price and mathis was the BEST LG last year according to pro football focus. Go throw your money away for a player not as good stat wise while I spend half of what you spend and get another stud in FA with the money I saved by not paying out record G money.
pro football focus also said we was an above average offensive line and RT was the weakness.
pro football focus said we was ranked #16 in offensive line. I dont think we need to over spend at LG for a guy that wants record money I think that would be the dumbest thing I ever heard.
No way I'm throwing 60+ mil at a guard
Shesh.. what would Albert want?

I hope no one gives Nicks
that kind of money. That is waaaay too much for a guard. I think only big time QBs should be making that type of money.
