I'll have more on the blog, and who knows, but sounded to me today like Pioli/Romeo want to be aggressive in improving the QB sitch.

Well...I see 4 options.
1. Stick with Matt Cassel
2. Sign Orton
3. Attempt to get Peyton Manning somehow
4. Trade up to get RGIII
IMHO, I like signing Orton and name him the starter right away. None of this competing with Cassel BS. We’ve seen enough from Cassel. I don’t think Pioli has the cajones to trade up for RGIII. I’m also not sure I want to shell out $$$ for a QB with neck issues and one good hit away from eating through a straw the rest of his life, even if it is Peyton Manning.
Always a fan, win or lose. Go Chiefs!

Off the bat, I'd say #2 is most likely what'll happen.
The Chiefs “aggresive” is a little different than other teams, and bringing back Kyle seems more their speed than going after Peyton.

I'd be good with that.
I’d be better with #3, but #2 would be a nice consolation prize.
"The Chiefs are in great hands with Romeo and Scott and I wish them nothing but the best." - Bill Muir
I'd be better with 3 too, just don't see the Chiefs making that kind of splash
Plus, my Chiefs motto is “Hope for the best, expect the worst”, so I’m ready for a big ol’ “Meh”.

So hope we pull off some miracle to land Luck or RG3
But expect us to re-sign and start Palko?
It's no fun if I have to explain it.
5. Sign Peyton. Keep Cassel until some team like Oakland is desperate enough to trade us a 1st rounder for him.

A one year wonder
That was able to take an inferior team to a national championship.
Now, their D had some legit players, but Cam was a one man show on the way to the title. It’d have to at least be a conversation is all I’m saying. Something along these lines…
scout 1: “Gotta go with Luck. He’s the most pro-ready QB in years”
scout 2: “what about Cam? Carried his team to a title and falt out dominated college football.”
Scout 1: “No way. Luck ran a pro system.”
Scout 2: “Sure, but he couldn’t carry his team like Cam did.”
Scout 1: “It’s about being pro-ready”
Scout 2: “No, it’s about winning football games. Which Cam did better than Luck”
In the end, I’m guessing a team goes with Luck. But you’d have to at least look at the options.
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
I am the Master of Hyperenthetical Asiditry (you know, like this. Only more)
Yeah the option is there, but as prospects the answer is Luck
Hell Cam was #2 behind Gabbert with quite a few people, because he was a 1 year wonder who was in a very friendly 1 read and go offense.
I get the fact he had a great rookie year, and did play well in college.. but if you are looking at it just as prospects, its not close.

I'd stay away from Flynn
And I think he’s going to Miami anyway, only seems right. I’m onboard for Manning or RGIII though. Who needs a offensive line when you’ve got a guy who could play running back at QB.
Agreed on Flynn.
He’s got a better resume than Kolb, for sure, but he could still be another Cassel. Besides, I’m tired of bringing in guys who backed-up other people’s elite quarterbacks. Grbac, Cassel, even Green after he was supplanted by Warner. Enough is enough, already.

This is Covitz's version
Sounds like Mellinger has his own info/thoughts which will appear on his blog (“Don’t Kill The Mellinger”). May be the same stuff, we’ll see though.
Here's why I don't think it's going to be Zorn...
"As a head coach you have to be involved in the offense … you want to know what’s going on," Crennel said, "but I’m not going to be in the offensive meetings because I’m going to be running the defense as well. The guy I get I need him to be what I consider to be a good coordinator."
The OC needs to be nearly head-coach-ready. I think Saunders is more HC quality than Zorn. At least Saunders hasn’t eliminated himself from being a potentially good HC, whereas Zorn has already shown that he didn’t fair so well. My money is on Saunders.
Im calling it right now
Tom Brady will be traded to the Chiefs for 4 1st round draft picks after he wins this SB. Pats will roll with Mallet as QB of the Future, we get a future HoF Brady for 3-4 more years and win a SB ourselves. Note I am no endorsing that idea, just stating that is whats gonna happen.
Do we go fetal and beg for mercy? Or do we pick up that broken piece of pipe laying on the ground and come up swinging? I choose pipe.
Sober (again) since January 10th, 2011.

i dont understand the cassel hate
Orton only had a couple good games for us he played like crap the game we needed him most(oakland). At least cassel gave us a pro bowl season with limited receivers.

Huh?
We were within two blocked field goals of winning that game. Oakland has a pretty good defense and Orton’s offense kept pace well enough to still be in the game. Not too shabby for a guy that started the season on a different team and won 2 games with 4 weeks of practice.
Not hating on Cassel (at least not in this post) but you have to give Orton credit for what he did in his short time here.
Kansas City Chiefs; Profitable Mediocrity since 1969.
If the Chiefs hire Josh McDaniels, I will cancel my season tickets -- phew!
THose picks hurt but in the 4th
13-6 with 3 minutes left Orton drives us down and throws a td pass to Bowe
The defense forces a 3 and out
Orton takes us from our own 33 to the Raiders 31 setting up the potential game winner which is then blocked .
Over the last 3 weeks we saw plenty of abilities that many claimed he lacked .

Sounds like Saunders to me...
…and he is anticipating replacing Zorn. Get a bright young guy to learn from Al as QB coach.

IDK last paragraph sounds like Zorn for continuity.
Never argue with an Idiot...... they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
sometimes I wonder how they would do that chalk outline, if you pushed someone into a tree chipper.
Peyton Manning is not coming to KC so he can listen to RC and SP tell him it's the Patriots way or the highway over and over again.
We all have a better chance to win the Powerball than seeing Peyton Manning signing with the Chiefs.
