This work week is almost officially done and I'm beat. Having a beer at a work Happy Hour now and I think I'm headed for a 9 p.m. bed time. Snow is on the way here in DC and I have no interest in travelling around the city in the cold.
This is your open thread for the night. Make sure you give us your victory of the week in the comments. My victory of the week is getting plans together for next weekend actually - a weekend trip with the wife. Should be a great couple of days of detaching, no internet and plenty of relaxation.

I turned 30 a few weeks ago

There’s this Chinese place in one of the food courts on campus that I always eat lunch at, and it’s really good. Actually, to be specific, the meat is really good, the rice is just ok. Unfortunately, they give you about 50% rice, 25% vegetables, and only about 25% meat. And, because I go to one of the most expensive schools in the country, the meal costs a lot of money.
I started thinking how inefficient I was being. I was wasting all this money just so I could get a little bit of delicious food. I asked if I could just get meat, and they said no.
But then I realized that they sold pork dumplings, and although they are also expensive, you can get six for about the same price as a meal I usually got. So I realized today that I could get way more meat by just getting those dumplings, and thus I had a fantastic lunch.

I don't really eat that much.
I usually just want the highest density of stuff I like as possible. Most Chinese restaurants I’ve gone to have a good mix, but this place on campus just doesn’t give you enough meat.

To make up for the hrs these sons of bitches at my first job cut, cuz, ya know, it’s somehow cheaper to add another part timer than it is to keep giving me 2-3 extra hrs a day.

Just finished signing the closing documents on my first house. Also, got word yesterday that I will be getting a “market value” $2 raise on a job I’ve had just over a month.

I got a phone call from one of my potential mentors at U of L. Professors never call as they are way to busy with their real business. She invited me to come see her lab next Tues. and wanted to make sure that I would be available for a teaching assistanceship. She said that there was still a little extra money left where she might be able to bring another individual in…
So it sounds like there is a very good chance that I will be getting into the Ph. D. program in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior. Pretty darn exciting.
Also I’m in the middle of creating agar plates to plate orchid seeds. So hopefully I’ll have a mass amount of orchids for sale in about 9 months.

I don't think they're the same at all
Yeah, they’re both big, possession receivers, but when I look at Baldwin, I keep seeing a a boy that hasn’t grown into his tight end body yet. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but after seeing the way guys like Gronk and Graham can dominate, I just think Baldwin can be that type of guy with a few more pounds.

We’ve been engaged since just after the tornado, but we’ve had a hell of a time trying to set a date.
The first venue we wanted to use for the wedding/reception fell through when the lady who owned it lost the lease.

I work for the Music Center here at Wash U and we do some weddings.
I’m sure renting the building for a wedding and reception would run over $2,500.

What you have to understand about St. Louis is that nothing is ever on the way.

I have to admit...
This is the first time I have posted on AP on a Friday… Probably ever.. But… Is it nerdy that I’m doing so from a bar?? I mean all I hear are ri-tards talking sports and not a one of them knows what the hell they are talking about. I just over heard a conversation in which they said we should trade away our entire draft for a QB.. It took everything inside of me not to slam my miller light.. Slam my tuaca.. Get up.. Punch them in the face.. And then steal their affliction shirt to wipe my ass with when I got home. Word to the wise.. If u want to talk about the chiefs in public..
