Jamaal Charles' Injury Rehab On Track For 2012 Season

Good news, Kansas City Chiefs fans. Jamaal Charles return from ACL injury continues to look good. Charles visited Kansas City for a physical this week and he passed along an update on his return via Twitter.

Physical went great today in KC!! They're going to ease me in OTA & I'm on schedule to be back when the season starts!! Let's go #Chiefs

Good news, of course. The Chiefs won't have any football-related stuff until April so that gives him time to rehab. OTAs are basically practices that will take place this summer. Training camp will be in July/August and the season starts in September.

Players on other teams who had a similar injury late in the season will miss the entire offseason program and potentially start the season on PUP. ACL tears are never good, but if you gotta have one, Week 2 isn't a bad time.

I'm wondering this morning if it's possible that I've forgotten how awesome Charles is. In the words of Bart Scott, can't wait!

Cant wait

This is good news for the chiefs, just wonder if this will slow him down a little.i rally dont think so.just wondering who his back up will be this season.

I will be very surprised if he is not a little tenative to start the season.

I think after a few games the old Jamaal will start to show up.

Depends on what they do with preseason

If I’m Crenneal, I’m giving him some carries to let him get the “tentative” out of his system.

Hot damn! That jersey and helmet is a beautiful color!

Unrelated to his injury, I know. But I’m just saying… we look gooooood!

1. David DeCastro (Stanford- guard) 2. Nick Foles (Arizona- quarterback) 3. Hebron Fangupo (BYU- nose tackle) 4. Derek Wolfe (Cincinnati- defensive end) 5. Brandon Taylor (LSU- safety) 6. Tom Compton (South Dakota- offensive tackle) 7. Tyler Urban (West Virginia- tight end)

It is the best uniform in the league.

I like the Ravens the second best. I dunno. Purple and black work.

by bossmanham on Feb 17, 2012 9:18 AM CST up reply actions

I'd put the Bills unis as the best

Although it’s all probably a moot point once the new uniform changes are made.

I agree. I like the Bills and Lions after KC.

The Bills new uniforms are sick.

I’m just going to say it. There needs to be more white and less silver in NFL unis these days.

Yes, everyone looks better in white

I’d like to see KC with white pants, white tops, and a white helmet with a red arrowhead. So clean

Agree, although I think most aren't fans of the "all-white" uni, I've always liked it.

Now the red pants, f’n horrible.

I might kinda like all red.

Not sure.

But all white is where it’s at.

JC back Good news for the home team

I don,t think it will slow him any, it may him a little Leary at first as with all three players but after those first few hits they will be OK IMO………….

Me too...after seeing some of the pictures on AP recently of his cuts and how low his center of gravity gets...I am more than ready for a Healthy JC

I don't worry about Berry at all

He’s a guy who i GUARANTEE crushed rehab and spent time learning as much as he could about our defense.

Pretty sure he was running before Jammaal.

The thing about Berry is that he’s an athletic freak. He should recover 100% and be ready day 1.

He's not just a freak, he's an incredible worker

JC’s a freak too, but not a worker like Berry. I was more worried about JC. I think they’re both itching to get back, realizing that we would’ve made the playoffs had they been here.

Moeaki I’ve heard nothing about though…

ACL Tears blow

I had one back in HS. Granted not near the athlete as Jamaal however, I am sure I was going to go pro and play for the Chiefs until that happened. haha I was thinking the same thing as the article stated. We obviously didn’t want Jamaal to get hurt, but better in week 2 than week 14 for a recovery perspective. This would be the same for Mr. Berry, and Tony M. Those two should be back for the start of the season as well.

by VWRocks on Feb 17, 2012 9:16 AM CST reply actions

I think JC will come back just fine

His injury was more of a freak accident from slipping on the yard marker so I don’t think he will worry about taking a hit or making cuts as much.

I could see Berry being a little cautious because his came from a cheap shot.

I could also see Moeaki being cautious because his came from a hit as well.

I hope he has a picture of Steve Johnson taped to the mirror he works out in front of. I hope that as he’s lifting with that knee he’s dreaming of ways to fuck that guy up when they next meet.
