Need some help, KC trip
Ok I read this site everyday, post sometimes.
But I'm trying to find info for my first trip to Arrowhead this year! Me and my friend(panther fan) will be flying out for the Chiefs vs Panthers game this season! We are wanting to make it a worthwhile by getting the best seats we can @ a fair price! I know that the schedule isnt out and I know theirs already season ticket holders selling their tickets! So where shld I look for tickets? looking for lower level? Also looking for travel info, best part of town to travel, best time to fly in, what we shld see, prob a 3 day trip for us. hopeing to get in day before game early, do some site seeing(depending on time of yr/weather) and leaving day after the game hopefully late! We will be coming from WV! so any info would be great!
Just trying to get some input early and I am excited, lol
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

you could just choose not to comment ...
isn’t that what you said to another blogger here a day or so ago? why yes, I do believe it is what said to another blogger the other day … funny how that works, isn’t it?

I didnt bash him personally in anyway, didnt cuss, didnt do anything but recommend something to do, and honestly it was something he could do not a bash like his flag said. its comical but whatever live and learn right? some are just sensitive or CANT GET OVER THEMSELVES enough to joke around. lol.
I didn’t flag anyone, i read it, I took it as a joke, but really looking for advice. Thanks

18th and Vine area ... historical fun and the best (and most famous) BBQ in the world
the Negro Leagues Hall of Fame and Museum, which is side-by-side with the Jazz Hall of Fame and Museum (separate entities and thus double the cost) but both are WELL worth the visit!
and that’s about a block or two (at most) from Bryant’s BBQ (mmmmmmmm!) … I’d give a good 3 hours if you were to do lunch at Bryant’s and then do both museums, would be well worth the time and both are amazingly rich in history
if you like art there’s the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art near The Plaza, a good couple of hours to spend there if that’s to your liking

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Bryant's?
Are you trying to get him sick? Oklahoma Joe’s FTW!
:D
You think it's coincidence that I bleed red?
Oden's BBQ in Belton is a great place, OK Joe's also full of win, lets face it there is not a lot of 'bad' BBQ in KC.
Also, there is not a bad seat in all of arrowhead.

if you like roller coasters
Worlds of Fun is a must.
Eat BBQ two meals a day, go to a fancy one or two like Jackstack or oklahoma Joes. I do highly recommend just driving around and pick a random mom and pop BBQ joints, you’ll be surprised. My personal favorite is Johnny’s BBQ.
Make sure to check out the Plaza at night, and party it up in The Power and Light District.
Look out for the CHIEFS in 2012!!!!!!
tell us what you like to do first
then we can make suggestions..
1) do you like to party, drink , girls etc
2) or maybe see more cultural sites…
3) a must is bbq, ask anyone here, just be careful( lotsa sensitive batards on the subject)
BBQ enough said.
Feel free to visit the areas surrounding KC like Blue Springs, Lees Summit, Raytown and Independence. The latter has some good sites and depending on the time of year, you may be able to go to Santa Caligon Days which is fun.
If you are staying around the stadium I would generally avoid the area near the Walmart nearby at night. It can get rowdy sometimes.
Gates BBQ is nearby the stadium and so is Dixons Chili (President Truman’s favorite place to eat).

Oh and for lodging
there is the Drury Inn but there are other places in the area that may end up being cheaper. On Noland there is an American Inn that is about 20 minutes from the stadium that has good rates.

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Eat at Gates on main or Clever 2. If you want a more upscale experience, try Jack Stack on the plaza and do some shopping while you’re there.
brookside/lwaldo is a cool area to find neat places to eat. Waldo Pizza and Minsky’s are local institutions, though I can’t say I understand the love for the latter.
for partying, there’s always Power and Light but it’s really only worth going if there is a cool concert going on(they’re typically free)
Westport is the primary destination for local revelers. I’m usually the only sober person in that district.
If you want to see a show, try a smaller local venue like the uptown. cool stuff.
stay out of the northland and johnson county. there is nothing of cultural significance there.
