ESPN just posted their estimate of the Chiefs salary cap...... It's a whopping 62.9 million dollars under......
How come we haven't signed Carr & Bowe with those kind of numbers? The Chiefs have got to have known that they were going to be 63 mils under the cap. Why didn't they work something out during the season last year with these 2? Instead, they'll more than likely be pulled into a bidding war now. What's going on?

It will be interesting to see what line they give us for not spending any cash this year.
The lack of depth on this team is borderline criminal. Time to get to work Pioli.

hard to say why nothing was worked out last year ... could have been the Chiefs weren't trying hard enough, could have been the players wanted to wait
the fact is that as of now NOTHING can be done until the beginning of the Free Agency Signing Period in Mid-March

Carr didn't look very good at all in training camp.
He was playing inconsistently all the way up til the season started, then he found himself. Before that was the lockout, of course. And last year, he still hadn’t really emerged. Once he got things turned around during this season, he decided wisely to wait and see how the FA market values him.
I don’t know why we didn’t sign Bowe. I bet the lockout threw that timing off, too. I could see Pioli not wanting to throw a ton of cash at a player who has had problems with drops, and who has a relationship with a coach who was about to get fired. And I could see Bowe being cautious about signing until all the Haley stuff shook out.
No matter how much money Pioli has, he’s gonna get his dollar’s worth. You don’t spend money just because you have it, unless you’re the government.

You are SO wrong dude
The government spends money we/they DON’T have.
I get
the not wanting to throw a stupid amount of money at risky players. But these are your home grown, young ascending players. Who else would you want to sign but your own? Now the Chiefs are visiting with Stanford Routt…… I also get the ploy at trying to get the best deal for the club. But then you’ve got to break someone else new into your system when you’ve got already made players that’s been good in your system? This whole process just doesn’t make sense. You teach your draft picks to be good at their position for 3-4 years. When they finally become good, you play hard ball and have contract issues.
let's wait and see how the free agency period goes before we get too upset, ok?
we could very well end up signing both of them :-)

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Stop with your silly reasoning.
It’s more fun to think the sky is falling, weeks before free agency truly begins.
Always a fan, win or lose. Go Chiefs!
What I find interesting is,
the Chiefs knew that the money would be carried over when the CBA was agreed to, BEFORE the season began. IF and a big if, they were going to pursue Peyton, all that cap money would not be needed just for him. I too am puzzled on why Bowe and/or Carr weren’t signed before season end.
Winning begins with Attitude - RAC will be a winner in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.
Let's spend some money!
Pioli has done a pretty good job so far at signing our own guys who deserve it, I’m just hoping he keeps Carr! and hopefully D Bowe gets resigned as well, as long as he doesnt keep dropping balls. We have depth issues and this is the year to spend some money so we can take care of some of those issues and get to the superbowl! Go Chiefssssss!!!

This is Arrowhead Pride, right? This is the Chiefs we’re discussing, yes? Now, back to your regularly scheduled program.
