Sunday Open Thread

As I'm sure you've heard, today is the first Sunday without NFL football since September. Normally, we'd be in the middle of our third or fourth game thread of the day but alas, no football is being played today.

Use this open thread to talk about whatever you want. How are you filling the time on Sundays now?

I look forward to the draft season

Life of a Chiefs fan

And I actually have a good feeling about the Royals this year. Need more pitching, but our lineup should be potent if our prospects continue to develop

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Feb 12, 2012 12:33 PM CST via mobile reply actions

I don't know how but the Royals manage to draw me back in every year.

Thinking man we could really be good this year if we just pull a few minor things together. I’m trying to avoid that this season but I am optimistic for this team. If Hoch plays like he did after the all star break, Duffy progresses, Paulino plays like he did last year and Sanchez has a good season this team could easily be in the playoffs.

ups will be happy soon he will be getting his chiefs peyton manning jersey soon

and his boy decastro will be the chiefs first pick in the draft

will the chiefs ever draft a Qb in the first round, not since todd blackledge in 83. and the chiefs could of had marino. OH well atleast 65 toss power trap worked for KC, it should be wide open red. Hank stram still the man.

its not so bad, I made sure to put in these 1' flexible pipes so I wouldnt ever have to do anything but twist some wrenches.

being flexible its a breeze to put in also, twist some wrenches and bam your done. I recommend doing this to make it easier next time and probably this time.

Not a bad idea at all.

First time really messing with one. Been that, and painting a bathroom for this month’s project. Cuts into my AP time though, dammit.

It's no fun if I have to explain it.

by TRSChief on Feb 12, 2012 1:21 PM CST up reply actions

word of advice, dont start a project until you finish a project.

usually my girl starts projects for me and I have to finish them. just got done painting the whole house two months ago I know painting sucks. painting a bathroom sucks too getting behind the toilet I just took the whole toilet out and painted behind it, then put in a new seal and put it back on cost like maybe 10 dollars for the seal but so much easier to do, only bad thing is once my girl seen me do that next thing you know im putting a new seat on the toilet just cause, then a new shower curtain to match, then new rails for towels cause she just wanted to with towels to match the color of the bathroom, and all the other small but somehow expensive other things to match.

more i type the more im beggining to think being single would be cheap and a easy way to be lazy.

I've already lost 17 pounds since January 1st (Week 17)

Depression is in full swing, especially now that P & C reported today for the Mariners, so there’s more reason to be depressed. Haven’t shaved in a few weeks, despite my supervisor telling me to do so. Rewatched the Ravens & Chiefs game from last postseason.

I need help.

Oh, man. It's my mom. She looks pissed.

by CharlieConway on Feb 12, 2012 1:50 PM CST reply actions

I'm down 16lbs

Have a bet going with my girlfriend that I can lose 30 before she can lose 20. She didn’t realize it’s easier to lose weight when you have more to lose. She barely has 20lbs to lose and I could stand to easily lose 50

by RamX21 on Feb 12, 2012 2:03 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, percentage is always a fairer bet.

"We want guys that start their careers with the Chiefs to play for us as long as possible." - Clark Hunt

by Tarkus on Feb 12, 2012 2:06 PM CST up reply actions

That's where I'm at - I could lose a lot.

I’m oddly shaped, God had some fun with me. I’m 5’6" on a great day, but as of now, weigh 228. I graduated HS in 2009 and when I did, I was around 190. I usually played sports at around 180-185, so when baseball was over and I knew I was never playing sports again, I made it very well known that I would start eating whatever I wanted, whenever, thus leading me to gain over 50 pounds in 2.5 years.

Football season, like most guys, always traps me into putting on weight. Pizza/burgers during the game, food at the stadium, lots of soda, etc.

Oh, man. It's my mom. She looks pissed.

by CharlieConway on Feb 12, 2012 2:07 PM CST up reply actions

We graduated in the same year.

Except I was 3 inches taller and 40 pounds lighter and have managed to only gain 30 pounds before realizing I was becoming fat. Hopefully when I graduate I’ll have more time to get back in shape.

by wustl_chiefs_fan on Feb 12, 2012 2:15 PM CST up reply actions

My whole life I could put on weight extremely easily and lose it just as easy

I’m 5’7’’ and for most of my like I was in the 155-165 range. I could get up close to 2 and drop back down. I’m usually pretty active but playing semi-pro football the last few years really broke me down physically. I’m in good health now, well I have been for some time but just to damn lazy to get back in the swing of things haha, so now its time to get back to a normal weight

by RamX21 on Feb 12, 2012 2:18 PM CST up reply actions

Fun Fact

The Only burger that they cook fresh to order is the Angus 1/3 Pounder, why? Because if its left under a heat lamp it will turn green.

by ChiefWarPaint on Feb 12, 2012 2:51 PM CST up reply actions

actually false

i work at mcdonalds and angus burgers are kept under a heat lamp for up to an hour before being thrown away and the other meats have timers on them from 15 minutes to an hour. so basically when you go to mcdonalds the meat for your sandwich could be made right that moment or up to an hour ago….

I'm working on a presentation for my lab class, and the stuff is too simple.

This is a lab to prepare Junior and Senior Physics majors for performing experiments as grad students and scientists, and so they have us work on an experiment for a couple weeks and then present the results.

The problem is that my group has an experiment that was designed for high school students, so we’re struggling to spice it up.

I know about everyone’s love affair with DeCastro but what does everyone think about Peter Konz C Wisconsin? Big physical center who can handle NT’s by himself. Seems a little more valuable than a G & yeah yeah I know he’s really good. Between the two thought I think Konz may bring more value. Hudson can be an athletic pulling G

I read more of my Stephen King book, ate chocolate chip pancakes and buffalo wings for dinner, watched Team America then the Grammys, made a fanpost about quarterbacks here on AP. Now I’m gonna wind it all down with some more reading and sleep.
