and I don't even understand the difference between a shot and a post and you'd think after all these years I would have gotten it but I haven't so you're all gonna have to forgive me for that.

I needed some help, and I knew that you would rush to my aid, and you did. I thank all of you for that.

I'm a pretty old guy, and I got introduced to the internet when you had to dial a phone number to even get connected. And I found this bunch of people on AOL who loved talking about the Chiefs. That was when we had DT, and Neil, and Deron was out there in the secondary and Albert was roaming around right next to him. We had a great line and we had Priest and Marcus and the Nigerian Nightmare running the ball. Hell, I'm so old that I firmly believe that MIke Garrett was the best Chiefs running back ever. Tip of the hat here to the great Joe Delaney. I remember Curtis McClinton. I remember Podolak. God, I'm old. And I remember Otis. And Lenny arming it out to him at the end of almost every game. When we needed to win, it was Lenny and Otis. And 65 Toss Power Trap. Man, I loved Hank Stram. Move over, Lombardi. Best. Coach. Ever.

You guys helped me a lot today. And you remind me of that great bunch of Chiefs fans I found way back in the early '90's.

There's just something about Chiefs fans. Can't explain it. It's just a fact. You guys are great.

Ron, your first post should at the very least been placed in the fanshots, NOT simply deleted.....if that is what indeed happened

…….if it was deleted I’m ashamed to be a part of this whole AP thing! People on this site comment on everything from politics to religion, and of course football.
Just because you wrote a post outside of the “football” scope, doesn’t mean it should be deleted. And it was far from being an un-football post, you are a Chief fan, that’s enough of a football story for me……I hope some how it was a mistake, if not this might be one of my last comments on this site!

Eh, being ashamed is a bit melodramatic

I had no problem with the post, but I can completely see why it would be removed.

Other than him being a Chiefs fan, it has nothing to do with the Chiefs. Or even football.

Have to draw a line somewhere. Otherwise – my wife and I are repainting our house. This is new to us – maybe I could toss up several fan posts, one asking advice on how to best paint trim, another with how to handle painting a textured ceiling. Oh, and getting behind the toilet and sink are a royal pain, someone around here has to know a better way.

And while I’m at it, I could make a few posts about my favorite TV shows. I mean they have zero to do with football or the Chiefs or even Kansas City, but I’m a Chiefs fan, right?

I can see why a line has to be drawn, and I can see where setting a precedent of letting posts that have zero to do with any subject matter that this blog is supposed to be about not really being kosher.

Not to mention liability issues. People are lawsuit happy these days. What if the OP takes some advice that was given here, uses it, and it backfires in a terrible way that causes financial or physical harm to him and his family? Sure it sounds silly to think that someone could hold AP liable and have it actually stand up in a court of law. But at the same time, far more frivolous lawsuits have been won in recent years.

So if you take a step back and look at things in a real-world-applicable way, I can’t see how removing that discussion is shameful in any way, shape, or form.

And that’s all coming from a guy here who read it and thought, “hey good luck with that.” and moved on.

It was NOT a post about painting behind a toilet, it was something a fellow APer felt strongly enough to ask some advice about.

……..He has that kind of respect for the people on this site, that he actually opened up his heart and let us share a bit of it with us. Should it have been a fanshot? Yes but IMHO, TRS….you have no clue!

Thanks for the insult.

Now re-read everything I wrote .

And see the part where I had no problem with it. Never reported it. Read his original post and silently wished him good luck (because, ugh – teenagers) and went about my merry way.

Now also read and understand about how it still has nothing to do with the Chiefs at all, and how it makes complete sense – from AP’s perspective – to not set a precedent for allowing posts that have nothing to do with the Chiefs or football.

Now please tell me again how I have no clue. Since I’m clueless, I’m a little slow and I need to understand exactly why it is I’m clueless in this instance. I’ll eventually catch up, I’m sure. I just need it explained a little more.

ArrowheadPride....PRIDE...pride in it's members. It was a post about a CHIEF fan, reaching out to other Chief fans!!!

………..you can go on all you want about, how you have no problem with it being removed. That is fine, it’s your opinion….and my opinion is….whomever thinks that particular post needed to be removed, has no clue. We move on our separate ways and agree to disagree. If you take it as an insult, that’s your problem. I take it as an insult, that a post like that should be removed, two different opinions and that is it.

It’s hard to tell, because he’s all over the place with his name drops. Priest and Marcus were only 7-8 years apart, and Christan was 3 years before that.

I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.

honestly, it is a fan post.

If he is a chiefs fan and its anything to do with chiefs as a fan he should be able to post, otherwise get rid of the fan post if you are going to discriminate and judge if one is better than another.

one of the things that is so stupid is when you read a fan post and you got some person saying fan shot, or just being a jerk about the post when clearly it says in the rules if you are going to say something negative just move to another post.

its not hard people, including myslef I get caught up into negative remarks sometimes cause some people are just annoying at times including myself.

Lets just all swallow our pride here, remember the rules you read when you signed up, and remember we are all equal and chiefs fans.

for talking about chiefs, the comments above make it seem like he was talking about chiefs, I know I do notice some guys on here are rude rather than cool about being a chiefs fan and talking chiefs talk like they are better to talk to or something when half they time I ignore what they say cause I dislike it or dont agree at all as a fellow chiefs fan, just hope everyone remembers the rules they signed up for when posting basically I can easily go somewhere else if I wanted to talk trash and do all that nonsense.

His original was post asking AP’ers advice how to handle having found a pipe in his 16 year old son’s room.

And really on the fanshot v fanpost thing, it’s a pretty simple principle. If you come up with a “hey I just had a quick thought about (x), what do you guys think?” – fanshot. If you do an article with several paragraphs, links to various sources, discuss a topic in depth and spend a goodly amount of time on it – fan post. (note: this isn’t to pick on fanshot people, it just keeps the detailed articles with a lot of effort from getting bumped into oblivion by quickies that people put zero effort into. A place for everything, and everything in its place).

That said, trlwyr’s original post – that got deleted – wasn’t about the Chiefs or football at all. I had no problem with it, but I got called “clueless” for stating why I can see that it makes sense for it getting removed.

I’m mean and nasty like that, I guess.

TRS…I’d like to apologize. I hope you know I’m not “that” type of guy. I realize what you meant but I was really touched (not like that…perv..lol) by Ron’s openness and guts to really open up to AP. It made me feel really good and special about what goes on around here. I am new to Chiefdom, like you know. But I really enjoy the people and relationships that I’ve made here. This is not just a football site for me and I would think it’s more than that to a lot of people. Most of which probably never even comment.

I’m sure I will be made fun of (just waiting for an HIV comment) but I really don’t care. It’s who I am. I am at peace with how I am and yes I cry when Mean Joe Green says “Hey, Kid”. Or when Paul Newman gets driven away with that Cool Hand smirk!
