Chiefs-Browns final score: Jamaal Charles goes for 165 but KC is blown out again

USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland beat Kansas City, 30-7.

Well. It happened again.

The Kansas City Chiefs were blown out by the Cleveland Browns, 30-7. It is the eighth double digit blowout this season for the Chiefs. The 23-point differential is the second biggest blowout of the season behind the 38-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

So, yeah, let's repeat that: the Chiefs two biggest losses this season came against the Browns and Bucs.

This team is awful.

Your Chiefs-Browns recap is below...

***

It's a cloudy, dreary day in Cleveland. Or just a regular day in Cleveland. 44 degrees at kickoff.

First play of the game: 80-yard touchdown by Jamaal Charles.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 0

Tamba's sack: The seventh of his season and 60 1/2th of his career.

They really, really dislike Hillis.

The Chiefs didn't have a 20-plus yard pass for two months. Now? Brady Quinn's throwing darts left and right. On the second drive, Brady Quinn found Bowe streaking across the field for a 23-yard gain. Later in the drive, Quinn went deep to Bowe -- yes, the Chiefs actually went deep! -- for a 47-yard gain, bringing the ball inside the 10-yard line. Bowe got away with a little push-off -- he held onto the defender's hands for a second -- but there was no call.

That second drive ended in...

In other words, "Reasons you're 2-10".

DJ is great:

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 3 Brandon Weeden had a sure-fire touchdown pass but Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston was able to disrupt his throw just enough. On the following play, Brandon Flowers broke up a fade route, forcing the Browns to kick the field goal.

First quarter score: Chiefs 7 Browns 3

Dwayne Bowe went down with a rib injury.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 10 Wow. The Browns' Travis Benjamin took a punt back 93-yards for the score. Based on the GIF below, Dustin Colquitt needs to work on his tackling.

Punternocare_medium

That's actually a critical play by Colquitt. I'm not exactly sure what he's coached to do there but even falling to the ground and laying there would've been more effective than what he did. All he had to do was slow Benjamin so that another Chief could come from behind and tackle him. That one hurts.

Jamaal Charles went down with an injury after appearing to fall on the ball after a tackle.

After making fun of Dustin Colquitt for his non-tackle, he comes back with a beautiful punt, pinning the Browns inside their own five yard line.

Fight!! It all starts over Shaun Smith grabbing Trent Richardson by the neck when he was on the ground. Whoops!

Halftime score: Chiefs 7 Browns 10

The Chiefs special teams performance has been horrid. They gave up a punt return touchdown, missed a field goal and then on the second half kickoff they booted it out of bounds. Awful.

Eric Berry has a wrap on his hand, which may have contributed to him dropping an interception. Considering what the result was for the Browns on that drive, that's a killer drop.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 17 Josh Cribbs took the direct snap and nearly scored from 12 yards out but after a challenge, referees ruled his knee was down before crossing the goal line. On the next play, Trent Richardson punched it in.

The Chiefs response to the score? A tipped interception. Just a killer as the Browns are already in field goal range at the Chiefs 29-yard line.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 20 The Browns capitalized on the Chiefs turnover.

The rain starts midway through the third quarter.

Third quarter score: Chiefs 7 Browns 20

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 27 Cleveland keeps piling on. The Browns went 82 yards in 12 plays, capped by Trent Richardson's second touchdown.

Score update: Chiefs 7 Browns 30 Yeah, that's a 30-burger for the Browns.

Jamaal Charles had 165 yards and the Chiefs lost by 23 points.

Final score: Chiefs 7 Browns 30
