Because of that, and because of our options on the team/in free agency/with our #1 pick at QB, I think what we need is a coach that can make a team a winner regardless of how great the qb is.
guys in the mold of dick vermeil, jim harbaugh, leslie frazier, jon gruden, gary kubiak?, greg schiano?, pete carroll? seem to fit the bill.
i may not be right on all these guys, but its a list of people that I think can make average or below average qb’s look great because they have a system supported greatly by an excellent run game, they put points on the board & put their qb’s in a position to succeed without having unrealistic expectations from them. Then if somebody like Geno Smith turns out to be like a Kappernick then you end up getting the best of both worlds.
i dont know the coaching candidates well enough to know who would be best suited to run a team in this style but I’m sure they’re out there. The only one I’ve read on here that sounds like hes in that mold would be Rick Dennison. Somebody wrote a great fanpost on him here:http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2012/12/27/3808460/who-will-be-our-new-head-coach
I just read another fanpost that had suggested Jay Gruden & David Shaw who seem like they might fit the bill.
what do you think arrowhead? got any good coaching candidates that might fit this bill.
