Now I know most of my fellow fans will call me crazy for this post, but I don't think that the Chiefs need to rebuild they have as much talent as any playoff team. The core of players can compete for a playoff spot next season with just a few changes. This team will need to become more disciplined with less turnovers and penalties stop and basically just stop shooting themselves in the foot. Whoever is the Chiefs head coach will need to make sure that costly mistakes are limited.

It doesn't take a genius or expert to realize the Kansas City Chiefs Number one need for this upcoming season is by far at the quarterback position. Now we can use our #1 pick in the draft to get Geno Smith the 23rd ranked player on Kipers draft board or #30 on that list Matt Barkley. To me that sounds ridiculous to spend the #1 pick in the draft on a guy thats only the 23rd best player in the draft class. From what I hear no Quarterback in this draft class is truly ready to become a starter in the NFL. Which makes me think drafting a Qb in the first round would be ignorant, it would be the best interest of the Chiefs in Drafting a Quarterback In the early Second round. Doing this won't be very popular and I understand why, because the last time the Chiefs drafted a Quarterback in the first round seems like it was forever ago.

Get Alex Smith he fits perfectly into the Chiefs offense and it will give them an opportunity to season a rookie quarterback while being able to compete. As many of you know the 49ers benched him recently for Kapernick and Kapernick has been magnificent for the 49ers. Alex Smith isn't going to be in San Fransisco come next year so why not have him come to Kansas City? He immediately will come in and help the team limit turnovers and will compliment the rushing attack lead by Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis just like what he was able to do in San Fransisco. With adding him it helps the offense become more efficient and allows us to use the 1st pick on Manti Teo who is a stud at Linebacker. With a more efficient passing game which will take pressure off the run game with limiting interceptions and keeping opposing defenses on there heels this team will definitely be able to compete in the Afc West with the Defense they field next year that seems to only get better and better.
