The nuts and bolts for today's game.
The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Carolina Panthers at noon at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. But this won't be like any other game. Following the murder of Kasandra Perkins and the suicide death of Jovan Belcher, this won't be a normal day.
Football can be a welcome distraction for some. That was probably the thinking for those six team captains who helped decide that the Chiefs should play the Panthers today, despite what happened in the parking lot of the stadium on Saturday morning.
I do not envy Ron Pitts and Mike Martz, the announcers who will be tasked today with talking about the "unithinkable tragedy" at Arrowhead.
