Greetings Arrowhead Pride:
I'm PaVaSteeler, over from Behind The Steel Curtain, here to continue the tradition of "Ask A _______Fan" series of FanPosts in anticipation of our Monday Night Football Game. We've had some great success doing this so far this year, and hope to continue the tradition with you fine folks here.
Our two teams have a long history playing each other. While the Pittsburgh Steelers lead the series 18-10, the teams have split the last two meetings, with yinz beating us in overtime in 2009 (a season we are still trying to forget), and us eking out an ugly win last year 13-9 (a victory which ignited a week long controversy at BTSC on whether we Steeler fans should just shut up and be happy with a win, no matter how ugly it might have been, or admit to ourselves the sky is falling).
For those of you just emerging from underneath a rock, yes you will see Todd Haley again, and no, he and Ben Roethlisberger have not engaged in any shouting matches or trading punches (or friending each other on Facebook for that matter). Steeler Nation is beginning to release its collective breath on that score, but hey, the season is only half over, right?
For those Chiefs fans able to make it to the game at Heinz Field, welcome to Pittsburgh; I hope you find Heinz Field as special a place to watch a football game as I did a few weeks ago.
Oh, and be sure to keep an eye on the scoreboard early in the 4th quarter; that's when the Steelers' signature "Renegade" video comes on. For Steeler Nation, its our anthem.
The weather is supposed to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 30%. However, being right on the three rivers, any wind is going to make it feel even colder this time of year.
So, for the next several days, feel free to ask us Steeler fans anything you want about our team, our city, or the flight speed of an unladen-ed swallow; all I ask is that we all keep it clean, keep it friendly (trash talk allowed, just don't get personal), and let's have some fun!
