A saying from Sherlock Holmes is that, “When you eliminate all other possibilities, what remains, no matter how improbable, is the answer.”
No not Tom Condon as our new General Manager, but simply ask him what is the answer to the Chiefs problem(s). Clark HAS to hire Marty as a consultant and sit down with Tom Condon to ask the hard questions. Tom played for the Chiefs so he has to at least have a soft spot for them and the situation the team franchise is in now. Tom deals with all 32 teams in the NFL and who better to give you suggestions on what is wrong and what seems to work around the League.
Who better than Tom knows every GM and their heir apparent to a future GM position? I was gonna say the answer was Peyton Manning, but the more I read back on last years race for his services, it became apparent his agent (Condon) is who had to be helping drive that wagon.
So there it is Clark, sit down with Marty and Tom and begin the process of finding out all that is wrong before you try to right the ship or we will be back where we are now in just a few years. This doesn't need to be a public meeting, but some openness about the fact you have many problems and they need to be addressed, would be helpful.
