What We Need

"We had a visit, that we always have, when he comes or when I come to where he is," Jones said. "We are good friends. We served for about seven to eight years on the competition committee together. We have a top friendship and we visited about all the things we normally visit about, and he’s, apart from being an outstanding coach, he’s a heck of a man. A lot of character, and I can’t tell you how much I respect him and when you're in close like that, spend a lot of time with somebody, familiarly can breed content as the old saying goes. It's just the opposite with him, every time I’ve ever been around him he’s gone up five."

Mike Holmgren will only Coach the Dallas Cowboys? Seriously, the GM is Jerry Jones.

Looks like Mike Ditka and the Walrus is a nice nickname for him. Walrus Males are Fierce, no nonsense Beasts. Clark Hunt hiring Mike Holmgren would be a no Brainer and a smart move too. Clark does not have to be the GM.

Holmgren is noted for his role in molding quarterbacks such as Steve Young, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck during his tenures in San Francisco, Green Bay and Seattle, respectively. Under Holmgren's leadership and play calling the Green Bay Packers were consistent winners. He became known[by whom?] as one of the best coaches in the NFL, leading the Packers to their twelfth league championship inSuper Bowl XXXI. Under Holmgren the Seahawks also became a frequent playoff team, including five division titles and the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance in 2005.

Mike knows QB's and we have a serious need of more than one. The problem is someone has to pick the right one and then put the right team in place to mold them. I don't want Holmgren on the sidelines, I want Holmgren to pick the Coaches, supply the talent, and then make sure they perform. Something Scott Pioli cannot do it appears.

Mike Holmgren also appears to be the wheeler-dealer that can maybe make something out of our current roster and our mis-fortune of possibly the 1st overall pick. Another thing we thought Scott Pioli would do.

Assistant coaches under Mike Holmgren who have become NFL head coaches: Jon Gruden, Marty Mornhinweg, Mike Sherman, Andy Reid, Pat Shurmur, Dick Jauron, Jim Zorn, Steve Mariucci and Ray Rhodes. A different coaching Tree. Andy Reid might be available....
