A report from NFL Network states that Quinn was cleared to play, but he won't start on Sunday against Cincinnati.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Brady Quinn has been cleared to play in game action after suffering a concussion nearly three weeks ago, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL Network.

This is kinda what we figured would happen. Romeo Crennel announced Cassel as the starter on Wednesday.

The Chiefs had practice on Wednesday so they had to start giving the practice reps to someone. They knew Cassel would be available to play. They weren't sure if Quinn was gonna be cleared in time. So the safe decision was to name Cassel the starter this week.

But the really interesting part of all this will come next week.

What if Cassel plays well, or leads the Chiefs to a win against the Bengals? Do the Chiefs go back to Quinn, who they were committed to at one point in time this year? Or do they stick with Cassel?

OK, that's actually not that interesting. 1-8 team. But there's no wrong answer there.

The problem is, there's not a right answer either.
