Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE

The Chiefs placed Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve, ending his 2012 season and likely bringing his playing days in Kansas City to a close.

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve, ending his 2012 season at Week 10. Jason La Canfora tweeted the news and also added that Dorsey has likely played his last game for the Chiefs. Dorsey is set to become a free agent this offseason, as his five-year rookie deal comes to an end.

The massive tackle out of LSU has been bothered by calf injuries all season. He has just four solo tackles in four games this year. After a four-game absence, Dorsey made a brief return against the Chargers on Thursday night in Week 9, but he was promptly injured and ruled out again this week. That injury in San Diego appears to have ended his time in Kansas City.

The No. 5 overall pick in the 2008 draft, Dorsey was billed as a game-changer in Kansas City. But he's had a relatively underwhelming tenure with Chiefs, and it is likely coming to a disappointing and quiet close.
