Hurricane Sandy has already affected a number of sporting events and shut down several team offices.

Update: The deadline has been moved:

The NFL, like everyone else up and down the East Coast, is making plans to deal with Hurricane Sandy. Several teams have already stalled operations given the oncoming storm and now the NFL's trade deadline might be pushed back as well.

"NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to Around the League that the league is discussing pushing back the deadline because of Hurricane Sandy," writes Gregg Rosenthal.

The NFL's trade deadline officially comes on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. CT, and it's a date that was already moved back two weeks this season with the new collective bargaining agreement.

The Chiefs are among the teams that could move some players -- including leading wide receiver Dwayne Bowe. If passed, the move would give each front office a bit more time to consider their plans.
