Historically,
Raiders vs.
Chiefs have been pretty close games. I'm not going to pull out specific stats, but I can remember a span of time when games went 13-10, 21-17, 10-7, or 14-10. Regardless of who the "better" team was at the time, either organization kept the match close. There is no better team to play at home for
Brady Quinn's first start at Arrowhead. Why? These teams are pretty evenly matched. If Quinn wants to make a point to the fans, coaches, and his teamates, he needs to do it Sunday vs. our biggest rival. By no means will this put us on the road to the super bowl this year, but it may jump start things for the next few seasons. Now, some of you might argue....if he wanted to make a statement, why didn't he do it vs. the Bucs?...a below average team, bla bla bla. The Bucs aren't as bad as they seem. They have been surprisingly close in all their games this year, so the blowout victory over the Chiefs really isn't all that surprising. Given it was Quinn's first start as a Chief, he deserves a pass on that game as we move forward. He has had a bye week and all the snaps to prepare for Oakland. The question is this: Will Brady Quinn be the Irish rifle and light it up vs Oakland? Or will he become the Irish Car bomb and murder the hope for a better season?
Things to Consider; Better pocket poise, stronger Arm, more accurate arm, More reps with Bowe and Baldwin, 1st team in general. Also keep in mind his Notre dame stats, look them up, you will be impressed. Also keep in mind that when he played for Notre Dame, he had a talented
supporting cast, much like he has now...Can he take advantage of it?
