We officially have the #1 overall pick in the bag. All we need to do is keep our record setting pace for turnovers and offensive ineptness. I may not be rooting for the Chiefs to lose, but that doesn't mean I can't get excited about the prospects of the Chiefs finally drafting a 1st rd QB.
So with our choice, as it currently stands, of any of the QB draft class who should they pick? Barkley looks like a polished pocket passer with a great arm, accurate and strong. He already runs a pro style offense and commands it well. Geno Smith looks like the best QB "talent" with less polish than Barkley. Smith can make all the throws and IMO best arm in the draft. He has great accuracy and an understanding and anticipation of his spread offense. Higher upside than Barkley but lower basement as well.Tyler Wilson could be the best of them all even though he has had a rough year so far. I think Wilson has the quickest realse vs. Barkley and Smith, and he looks fearless completing passes while staring down a pass rush. Wilson's concussion track record scares the hell out of me, but his talent may outweigh injury concerns if he keeps playing like he did against Kentucky. Tyler Bray and Logan Thomas both have rocket arms and a lot of talent, but I believe they both should stay in college another year and probably will. If either of them do declare then this pick becomes even more interesting. If I had to pick it would be hard, but I would probably take Geno as it stands now and bring in a QB guru to coach him up, but a very close second is Barkley.
