Hey Chiefs, are you all here? Is Winston here? And Piloi? What about Hunt? Good. Now listen, because I’m only going to say this once. Now, I want you all to hear this, because if you don’t read this on Monday, if this isn’t in everyone of your inboxes, I will never speak to you again.
We are fans, OK? We are, fans. We are not yes men. This is not an automatic teller machine. We pay our hard-earned money when we come in here and I believe we can boo, we can cheer and we can do whatever we want, I believe that. You are lucky to play this game. People, it's hard economic times, and we still pay the money to do this.
But when somebody gets blownout, there are are apparently no long lasting ramifications to the way you play, long lasting ramifications to the way you play. I've already kinda come to the understanding that I won't live as long because of the years being a Chiefs fan takes off my life every Sunday, and that's OK, that's a choice I've made and a choice all of us have made.
But when you suck, when you keep getting blown out, I don't care who it is your playing, and it just so happened to be the hapless Bucs -- it's sickening. It's 100 percent sickening. I've seen some rough times for some rough Chiefs teams, I've never been more embarrassed in my life to watch you play football than in that moment right there.
I get emotional about it because we fans, we work our butts off. We haven’t done anything to you people, haven’t done anything to you people. Haven’t done anything to the players that berate us, haven't done anything wrong to the people that take our money and support for granted. Hey, if you’re not the best team then your not the best team, and that's OK. But we are people. And my wife works for over three hours, just to make enough money to pay for the privilege of parking our car to be one of 70,000 people cheering as you get blown out.
We don’t boo all we want. We're good fans. We could boo you all we want. Throw you under the bus. Now, we’re telling you you’re doing a bad job. You gotta protect more. Pioli seems to do whatever he wants. While you say whatever you want. But if you are one of those people, one of those people that were out there "holding," or even whiffing on a defender when we finally managed a first down, I just want to let you know, and I want everybody to know that I think it's sickening and disgusting. You should play like gladiators in the Roman Coliseum. At least make it a game.
I’ve sat here and I’ve tolerated all your blowouts for the last 20 years, if you want to know, and I'll take all the responsibility. I can take it because I deserve it, being a Chiefs fan was my choice. But don't ignore a guy, and take for granted a fan base who has done everything in its power to cheers as good as he can for this team.
Your play is sickening. And I was embarrassed. I want every single one of you people to put this on your station and in your newspapers because I want every player, coach, and owner to know that. This is a game that costs us a lot down the road. That's OK. We pay it, we deserve it and I don't want your pity. But we have a lot of problems as a team if you people think that's OK to take advantage of.
I'll get off my soap box and you guys can start playing football, if you want.
