Let me setup this diatribe by helping you understand your individual value as a fan. It is substantial, so don't think that you individually can't make a difference. Over the course of 10, 20 or 40 years as a fan.. you as a consumer typically spend $10,000, $20,000, $50,000 or even $100,000 over the course of your life to the Chiefs organization. Season tickets, jerseys, concessions, TV ratings that impact revenue. You have value, so never underestimate yourself as you can impact what you want to happen.

This Chiefs organization has gone from a steady decline to an absolute free fall and let me provide a brief analysis to support my conclusions.

EXPLICIT ISSUES (things that have statistical confirmation that are incontrovertible)

1. We have never lead in a game this season during regulation. Incomprehensible. NEVER.. not once.
2. We have not scored once in our first drive of a game for 24 games. This is the biggest advantage to game plan a series and give yourself a lead.
3. We have scored 0 points in the last 2 minutes of first half during any game this year. We literally avoid opportunities to succeed.
4. We lead the league in turnovers by a ridiculous margin for a team that is supposed to be a ball control team. Dead last in every game changing category.

TACIT ISSUES (things that you recognize but can't point to a stat to validate your "feeling" and the impact on the game)

1. The Chiefs are not conservative. Marty was conservative. The Chiefs organization is flat AFRAID. I am personally ashamed of this fact. It’s translates into bad play and horrible team morale.
2. The Chiefs have given up. They look defeated and disgusted. Why have physically gifted individuals (Bowe, Baldwin) that you never utilize downfield? ANYONE can throw a ball up for grabs in 1-on-1 coverage
3. The Chiefs helmets came off 6+ times during the game today. To me this expresses a lack of preparation, bad equipment or a lackadaisical attitude.
4. Chiefs have a high propensity for injuries.
5. Chiefs grasp at tackles, give up on runners or commit foolish penalties.

RESULTS

The result is a product, a feeling and sense that we have lost control and hope. This is beyond losing confidence in a QB, Coach or Defense.. this is so much more than that. I have been an NFL fan for over 40 years and ever missed a Sunday. I have not seen a team play like this since the 1976 Buccaneers. But there is a difference.. WE HAVE TALENT!!. It is the abysmal utilization of this talent I believe driven by the man in control of this organization at present. As fan we cannot lobby for change with our “boos” or submit to public Q&A’s to temper our growing rage. We need to affect immediate change from Clark Hunt.

MOVING FORWARD

We as fans should no longer look to win. It is counter-intuitive, I understand that but the only prolongs our agony. We need Pioli terminated as quickly as possible. Retract the contract extension, terminate him for incompetence or dereliction of duty or any number of causes that I could justify but I cannot bear this pushing down of weakness, fear to satisfy Pioli’s need to control. He has wasted our players, disheartened our fans and taken a storied franchise and turned it into a laughing stock. Our only course of action to affect change is to stop showing up to games, stop buying concessions, stop buying Chiefs gear.. a silent but powerful protest that would hit Clark where his primary concerns have always resided… the wallet. He not only loses revenue, but the equity value of his precious organization begins to decline. It would not cost him millions in hot dog sales and beer.. it would costs him $100,000,000 in equity value due to the drop in revenue and season ticket sales. He will have no choice but to pay Cowher, Gruden or a similar ilk to right the ship. It is up to you my brothers of Red and Gold. We can no longer rest of hope or that a change in one player will change the culture of the organization. That became painfully obvious today..

Our beloved players and faithful fans deserve more.
