So I'm watching the Steelers-Broncos game pondering many things. What does Tebows performance mean for next year? Is he the quaterback that im watching right now or is he the quaterback i saw play like crap against the Chiefs twice and who seemed to only win by lucky breaks and dumb decisions by the other team? Or how ironic it is that I find myself rooting for a man like Roesthlesburger (cannot spell his name) instead of the epitome of what a person should be in Tim Tebow just because he's a Bronco and i'm tired of hearing his name. When I had a thought, it was a rather interesting and hopeful thought. This thought made me crave next year like I crave a huge slab of Barbeque ribs from a little store in Amsterdam, Missouri (where me and my dad go to hunt every fall-best freaking ribs you will ever have). I will share this thought after the jump
The 2011-2012 Kansas City Chiefs were an enigma, with flashes of greatness and flashes of incompetence. So I like many of you are trying to figure out how good this team really is. But this thought i had filled me up with hope for this team next year. My thought was this "The Chiefs could be elite next year," now at this point i had to stop myself, i haven't lived long enough to remember a Chiefs postseason win and as a huge Royals fan Ive learned to be cautious when it comes to hope. But the reasons behind this thought were actually somewhat logical. We dominated the Packers, who at the time were the unquestioned best team in the NFL. We defeated and successfully stopped Tebow with relative ease in Denver, who are now beating up on a "Elite" (although injured) Steelers team. This years team was a field goal away from the playoffs despite losing 3 of our best players and for 13 weeks having at best mediocre and at worst incomprehensibly bad Quarterback play. The defense is knocking on the door of elite level and our offense has to be better with the return of Charles and TM, a new RT, and a offensive coordinator who actually knows how to score points. The only question is Quarterback where my fantasy is RG3, but with that being as likely as the Royals winning a World Series im hoping we keep Orton (even though my brain tells me that will not happen-dang you pioli), but i think with either Orton or RG3 we could be a legitimate AFC championship contender in the fashion that the Ravens or Steelers are this year. The things the Chiefs need to do to be Elite shouldn't be that difficult- but like in all things KC sports the question is "Will they do them?"
