Dorsey, Jackson, and Bailey
The Chiefs 3 best Defensive lineman. Need to retain all three for next year. That means no trades for all the Madden trade talk out there.

He missing a few facts when it comes to pass rushing.
1. Not all 3-4’s are alike and non-2gap 3-4’s allow for more pass rushing from their DE in base defense.
2. Unlike alot of the other DE’s in 3-4(especially those with the “good” numbers)play in pass rushing situations in subsets whereas our two guys aren’t. This is why a guy like Bailey appears balanced because he’s in on passing downs and fairs pretty well when they run in passing situations.
I’m not going to say that Dorsey and Jackson are pass rushing beasts but I will say, in the context of our defense, that’s not what they’re asked to do and not what they need to do. Whats lost, especially on Jacksons side of the line, is how much easier they make the jobs of our guys that actually rush the passer on a regular basis.

Good point.
I was thinking along those lines when PA started listing stats for the top ten 3-4 DEs. I’m not sure there are many more than 10 starting DEs in the league who play in a 2-gap 3-4 scheme.

Dorsey's lack of height for a 3-4 DE (barely 6 ft vs 6'3" + ideally)
Is evident by the zero batted passes. I don’t think he can see over the O-lineman blocking him. I don’t care if he doesn’t get sacks, but 3-4 DE’s should be taller to deflect/bat down passes or atleast make the QB change his throwing lane once in a while.
Dorsey has ridiculously long arms, though. That probably helps with his low number of missed tackles.
Like GB said, a lot of his stats are based on the scheme and the downs he plays.

But he can see the 5'9" running backs that he hardly ever misses a tackle on while he's covering two gaps.
Weird.

But actually, I'm not saying that he's a pass rusher who's being held back.
His college play was based on being straight-up stronger, faster, and meaner than the guy across from him. I don’t think he has pass rush moves, and I don’t think he’s got enough movement in his hips to juke O linemen. I’ve seen him in practice – he looks like a ball of violence in pass rush drills, but it’s not hard for true NFL guys to just stay in front of him if he can’t bowl them over.

i was really impressed with jackson this year. always stood behind him, but wow, he really took his play to a new level late in season
every run to his side was just a complete fall apart scenario for their ol, and allowed dj to get in there and make the tackle, or houston etc.
