With an outside OC
Not sure how we keep Carthon, Parmalee, Sirianni, and Muir.
I guess Weis pretty much kept everyone. He hired his own TE coach in Parmalee though.
I would think an OC would want some of his own guys especially since Romeo is a defensive coach. Whoever the OC is will have a load of responsibility and should be able to work well with his positional coaches.
How long should you try? Until.

I thought I'd heard Parmalee was gone
Obviously that was incorrect information.

having now replaced the special teams coach, it seems more and more likely our new oc is on the pats or the giants.

Yep

Our trade is with st Louis. That is why Jeff fisher visited here prior to taking the st louis job. He was “interviewing”

Yeah, we should get a 6th round pick in that trade.

Whoever the offensive coordinator winds up being
I certainly hope they are capable of running the offense. The Chiefs were basically without an offense all season long this year. Of course, part of that problem was the fact that we did not have a quarterback who could move the ball until Orton came in and did so after a total of two weeks in the system. That is a fairly damning indictment of our so-called quarterbacks. No offense, no playoffs.
"The Hammer"
more importantly, shouldn't we have a QB capable of running the offense?

The search for a new Offensive Coordinator is taking a long time
Because Pioli is looking for a competent OC willing to have Cassel as the #1 QB. It’s a non sequitur, or an oxymoron. But it seems to be reality in Kansas City.
Ancora imparo.
Stating that very fact may get you jumped on

Well, you know what opinions are like--mine included.
However, until proven otherwise, I will continue to go with the overwhelming evidence that Pioli is stubbornly refusing to upgrade at the QB position.
Ancora imparo.
This is the first offseason in which that was a real need.
First offseason was pretty much a wash, and he was being paid. Second offseason he had went to the Pro Bowl and led the team to a division title. This offseason his contract and performance give them plenty of incentive to make a move, so we’ll see what happens.

Out of the Pats&Giants coches
Giants qb coach Mike Sullivan looks the most promising. A year ago we passed on Chris Palmer his predecessor when Haley offered Palmer our qb coach job and not OC, judging by the Titans perrformance without Kenny Britt and a down year by Chris Johnson not bad. Coughlin is an ex Parcells wr coach so I would think there offense and ours have some similarities. The staff rounded out would be a plus for a 1st time coordinator as well. At least we know it wont be old man Bill Muir….snoooooooozzzzzeeeee
Carpe Diem
I agree
Mike Sullivan has a nice resume for a would-be first time OC.
Personally I dont want a 1st time OC with a very shaky offense. We have talent but no QB, we have guys coming off of injury, we have a shaky offensive line…..too much for a young gun.
If I had it my way I would do this….Hire Jim Fassel or Hue Jackson as OC. Two guys with HC, OC, and QB experience. Then let them round out the offensive positional coaches.
Then give DC to Gibbs and bring Zimmer up as full time LB coach. Then hire a young guy to be defensive assistant/apprentice.
How long should you try? Until.

We do have a good mix of experience and youth on the defensive coaching staff.

It seems like the right thing to do for your staff. Someone gets to put it on his resume.

Good move on RC's part to get a new ST coach. Beyond a few run backs, the ST has gotten worst over the last 2 years.
Not adjusting the OL after already having a blocked FG against you when the the division title was on the line——-it’s something you have to be accountable for.

WAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY2 green, only two years as a position coach, tight ends at that, no thanks. If were going with a 1st time OC at least get a qb coach (Lombardi or Sullivan).

Fassel is a proven OC
More than we can say for some candidates.
I’m just saying he would be my personal choice IF I was making decisions, which I’m not.
I think he could do wonders for our offense. He played as a QB and coached them. He has been HC and OC. Lots of experience to draw from.

Since we interviewed Mike Sherman and HAVE NOT hired Brian Daboll that means were thinking outside the box and not just settlign for the latest Patriots retread.

I sure hope so
Daboll, IMO, would be a disaster. As would Sherman have been.
