CORDY GLENN 1st rd PICK 2012!!!
This beast is getting RAVE reviews on NFL Sirius today. Things like, "Easily the cream of all the linemen at the Senior bowl." Much better than Mike Adams from OSU. Totally shutting down all speed rushers including Melvin Ingram, Quintin Couples and Courtney Upshaw. They've got him at LT but long time D line coach Greg Robinson just said he's a gem and will b the perfect RT IN THE NFL!!! I propose a 1st rd trade back to pick up an additional 3rd rounder, then taking this mountain to be our new RT!!! Pick up Grubbs or Nicks in free agency to plug in at our LG n insert Rodney at C...WHOA NELLY!!! Total Domination

He's a guard right?
I haven’t seen anything mentioning him as a tackle.

Actually he's being lined up at guard and the consensus has been that he'll be a guard and not a tackle in the NFL.
And I would be surprised if he gets into the first round. This is only one week.
"Give them nothing! But take from them everything!"
Add to that....
He hasn’t even lined up against Coples, Ingram or Upshaw in the coverage on NFLN because again he’s being lined up as a guard and those guys are going against the tackles.

First time I've seen him on TV lined up at tackle and Upshaw blew by him.

He's too slow.
He has to lunge too often.

A power-blocking RG
Think Eagles or Cowboys

They have said he could play in ZBS
That his footwork and movement is good enough.

Georgia guard/tackle Cordy Glenn was a topic of discussion with some scouts today. The consensus scouts have is that Glenn has to be a guard at the next level. Glenn played left tackle as a senior with the Bulldogs, but it doesn’t sound like he is being viewed as a possible tackle at the next level on either side of the line. Scouts told me today that Glenn does have the mobility to play in a zone blocking scheme. Even though the 6-foot-5, 346-pound Glenn fits nicely in a power man blocking scheme, they also believe he has the quickness and athleticism to be a zone blocker. That flexibility helps Glenn to appeal to more teams. Right now he looks like a potential pick in the second half of the first round.

Don't buy it
I’ve only seen him play tackle and he too often gets beat on the edge. He looks like he has lead in his feet. I could see him as a power guard who is asked to block a straight line.

Look at his tape from 2010, he was used a lot in pulls and downfield blocks and looked great when at guard
And his arms are so long and hes so strong that once hes got hands on you youre done. I agree hes no tackle but at guard his kick slide shouldnt be an issue.
Still needs work on technique but hes definitely got a body to work with. Wouldnt want to draft him top 12, but if we trade back im down. We need as much help as we can get.

The guy who said he shut down Ingram, Coples and Upshaw was Heath Evans...
enough said.
"Give them nothing! But take from them everything!"
He did have good days against them though, and dominated Upshaw at LT in one instance
Just because Heath Evans said it doesnt make it false, Glenn has had a great week.

Hace Nothing But Time.....
at home with a recovering acl (ala Moeaki, Berry, Charles) so i have watched the senior bowl practices several times and he is by far the best looking lineman there. It doesnt matter where he lines up, if he gets his hands on you its over and he isnt beat by a speed rush as often as some would make you think. There is a reason Coples is a top ten pick and Glenn did the job more often than not when lined up against him. They have lined him up more at tackle than guard during practice. If we move back into the second half or even last third of the draft he would be a great pick, and even if he doesnt work at RT he would be a dominant guard so you get e damn good player either way.
I still think when you have Hall of Fame type O line prospects available you should take them no matter what position they play.
Decastro is to good to pass up, I was watching his film against Ta’amu and Decastro just embarrassed him. There is no flaws in his game! He was power/finesse/amazing pulling and downfield blocking ability. I dont see Glenn as a RT personally, but I might be wrong.
I'm down with Mitchell Schwartz in a later round
Analysis from the Senior Bowl:
OT Mitchell Schwartz, California: Overshadowed in the Pac-12 due to the presence of two elite prospects in USC’s Matt Kalil and Stanford’s Jonathan Martin, Schwartz has stood out this week due to his size (6-5, 317), long arms (33 1/8"), strength and surprising agility. He’s held up well at right tackle in pass blocking drills and has done a nice job of sealing off defensive linemen in the running game and has been able to get to the second level, as well. Schwartz has been especially impressive in pass blocking drills, where he’s repeatedly stoned Penn State’s Jack Crawford and Virginia’s Cam Johnson, among others.
6 1st round draft picks, 2 Super Bowl Champions and counting

Has anybody watched him at practice.......
People are saying that he isnt guna be a tackle yet they have him playing tackle more than guard and he is more than holding his own against top prospects…… has he been beat? Sure, but name a tackle in the NFL that hasnt given up a sack. The guy is a much better tackle than richardson RIGHT AWAY and even if he doesnt pan out as a tackle over the next few years he WILL be an excellent guard so you arent losing out on anything with the pick!!!!!!!
actually we'd be losing out on getting DeCastro ... opportunity cost, man

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
DeCastro
is a guard only and Glenn would be a tackle and IF that didnt work out could be a very good guard. If we took DeCastro then what would happen with Lilja? The smart move would be to take Glenn and plug him in day 1 at right tackle and after a couple years, after Lilja retires, if he isnt working at tackle then he could be a very good guard. If you take DeCastro then we have Lilja or Asamoah sitting on the sideline and STILL no right tackle!!!!!!
or you could take Glenn, hope he works at RT
find out he doesn’t work there.. then you STILL need a RT.
either way, one of the two (LG/RT) will still be a need.
I’d rather have DeCastro at LG, and find another RT… as opposed to HOPING Glenn Might be a RT, and messing around with him being out of position.
if KC takes Glenn, I think it’ll be as a LG only.
