In other words Peyton isn't happy and it sounds like he's not healed yet.

Peyton's place is starting to become a soap opera.

better his place than our place

Oh wait, nevermind. At least no stories on being bugged or Don Pioli have come out this week.

Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.

I'd be totally shocked if Irsay didn't say "Peyton, we love you but it's business, so long and thanks for everything, and good luck moving forward"

… at that point he might be hard-pressed to fully convince some teams that he’s completely healthy, and if he isn’t completely healthy, nobody’s going to touch him …

Manning doesn't sound thrilled by the prospect of going back there either, and why would he?

As for playing again, I’m pretty sure that if he’s cleared he’ll play. He just seems too competitive to quite (unless he’s forced to). I doubt he’ll come to KC though.

Talked to a doctor friend of mine...

Yeah, I run in high falootin circles. He told me that a person with an injury like PM sustained can recover fully. And that it’s pretty common to make a full recovery.

Of course, most of those people are not being driven into the ground by James Harrison.
FWIW

Great read. Hoping against hope that the Chiefs QB Depth Chart this season reads #18/#7.

How about

QB Depth Chart: #18/not #7

You think it's coincidence that I bleed red?

Emmit Thomas?

by Tarkus on Jan 24, 2012 12:28 PM CST up reply actions

Oh, Shit, you're right

Emmit’s just gonna have to give the number up for a couple of years… there will be a cash transaction in order, of course.

Just thinking how much it would take for PM to get Emmitt’s number…. 40k?

I'm hoping too!

But FWIW schefter said earlier today that Cassel is “for sure” our qb next season. We can always hope though!

by jsChiefs23 on Jan 24, 2012 11:54 AM CST reply actions

It boggles ones mind that someone would be willing to confirm that they are planning on starting a season with a player at the most important position in the league who is a subpar player. Why? You are literally saying, season be damned, this is our guy. It would be just awful knowing before the season even starts that we are already going to fail.

by Topchief1 on Jan 24, 2012 12:43 PM CST up reply actions

Agree.

I ink everyone understands that when we traded for Cassel he was the best available option for us. At this moment we no he is definitely notnthe best option, and maybe not even the best option on the team if we have Orton. I just hope they understand it’s ok to cut bait.

The author makes assumptions of Peyton's anger based on nothing

To sum up the article:

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
Woah, Peyton Manning is angry.

The cow jumped over the moon.
Peyton Manning is mad.

The little dog laughed to see such fun
Peyton Manning is pissed.

And the dish ran away with the spoon!
Woah, Peyton Manning is a sad sad panda.

Meh...

right, there ya go

no doubt we know far more about what Manning might be thinking than Mike Florio, what does HE know, anyway! right? right??

sure Florio is speculating, but does it sound to YOU like Manning’s happy with everything that’s going on?

Ha

Come on Ups…

This was in the article \/.

Did you catch that one? It’s subtle, but significant. Not "Jim" or "Jimmy" or "Mr. Irsay." Just "Irsay." Peyton refers to "Irsay" as "Jim" on at least two other occasions in the interview, but to call the owner only "Irsay" in that specific moment is telling.

Folks, Peyton isn’t happy.

I don’t know whether Peyton is happy, sad, angry or indifferent, what I do know… is that article jumped to more conclusions than Cicque Du Soliel. I’m over it, but thanks for the talk…. Lil Homie

And you wonder what side the local media is on

In the next few weeks, we need to entice some good free agents to sign/re-sign here, as well as a quality offensive staff, and Babb releases his bullshit article. Its one thing if the national media gets ahold of something and runs with it, but when the local media is essentially sabotaging the team’s ability to convince players and coaches that this is a stable environment, which is clearly important to players of Peyton’s level, it just makes you hate the local media even more.

Eff Babb, NW, or any other sensationalist media member trying to tear down the team

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 24, 2012 2:42 PM CST via mobile reply actions

I agree to a point.

And that point is… what are a bunch of millionaire athletes doing caring about a media that most profess to hate? Media members are not what’s informing potential players about what’s going on with the team. The NFL is a close knit community of around 700 guys. I’m certain that the PLAYERS will give FA’s the skinny, whatever that is. I’m sure it will be more accurate. I don’t think they give a crap whatever BABBle writes on the local fish wrap.

by Ozarks on Jan 24, 2012 3:04 PM CST up reply actions

Yes, its the medias fault our GM is an overbearing boss

Just keep passing that blame. Pioli and nancy boy Hunt want to preach accountability, well now they’re going to have to live it.

seriously, dude ... you speculate as much if not more than Babb or anyone else

somebody writes something that YOU disagree with you knock it down as “speculation” then insert your own translation of whatever’s there, or isn’t there

we all engage in SOME speculation, but child, please … don;t know others for doing what you do just as much
