Let's Play Coaching Matchmaker: Hue Jackson to KC
Kansas City Chiefs: Hue Jackson
Kansas City needs to find an offensive coordinator who can handle a murky quarterback situation. The Chiefs will have veteran Matt Cassel returning next season, and, allegedly, would like to re-sign Kyle Orton. In Oakland, the Raiders improved with Jackson from where they were previously. Jason Campbell and Carson Palmer weren't All-Pro quarterbacks by any means, but Oakland had more success under Jackson than before he arrived. Jackson knows the division's defenses well from coaching the Raiders, so that would give him a schematic head-start over other coordinator candidates. He will be highly motivated to get Kansas City's offense humming after getting fired by Oakland.

I dont mind Hue
The issue I have with him is the fact he was a HC, then HC/GM once Al was gone. He got one hell of a big head towards the end of the year. He would have pretty much full control over the O. RAC would have a say in the gamplanning but after that it would be on Hue. I dont think Hue is a guy who would get another HC chance anytime soon so he would be in KC for a couple of years. He did do wonder with that team on offense.

I really dont want a position coach who has never really had much say in the game planning or play calling. I know that is pretty much how everyone starts out but you are giving full control to a rookie basically if you go that way…
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
I agree 100%.
I think he would be a great contributor to our offense along with Kyle.
2 things
1) Oakland collapse last half of season
2) throwing team under bus after last game
I haven’t seen where the guy is all that great or anything … it’s been suggested beforem honestly I’m unimpressed with his “body of work”

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
I think the D had a bunch to do with the collapse.
I agree with the throwing the team under the bus… That crap is pretty pathetic!

As far as the O, he took over a team that was 31st in the NFL in PPG after the 09 season.
In his first season as the OC he had them up to 6th in the NFL in PPG.
After taking over the HC position he had them 16th in the NFL. He lost his QB and McFadden this year.
All in all he did a heck of a job with the O but was pretty bad as a HC/GM.
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
Meh
The whole year hed been taking the entire blame, just that last game got to him. It was pretty lackluster effort from the team but he is the HC, so yeah probably not the best thing for him to do.
Hes got a big head, wanted to change things and release players which didnt sit well with vets under cushy contracts with Al.
But to say what he did in Oakland isnt impressive, he completely turned that offense around and if McFadden hadnt gotten injured and they had a better DC(seriously, guy had 250 lb MLB rolando Mcclain covering Calvin Johnson) then wed be seeing Oakland in the playoffs. How hes revitalized the sinking ship they called an offense and the work hes done with players people gave up on is nothing short of miraculous

Todd Haley (see what I mean?)
But to say what he did inOaklandKansas City isn’t impressive, he completely turned that offense around in 2010 and ifMcFaddenJamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki hadn’t gotten injured and …
we can all make justifications and excuses for almost anything we like or dislike … right?

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Haley turned the offense around?
News to me. If anything weve been extremely stagnate, even when McFadden went down their offense was still able to put up points unlike our own. Even with the extremely mediocre at QB he still did well where we have struggled mightily. Once you took away our offensive weapons Haley couldnt do anything, We barely reached the 50 yard line in a lot of games.
And Haley was the HC, Jackson would be our OC. Less in the public eye, No real major decisions outside of the offense, and as long as he meshes with Pioli I dont see to big of an issue with a Jackson hire.

I was being facetious, but at that there was an upgrade from 2009 to 2010

Um, no thanks.
If we are bringing in a former Raider coach, make it Al Saunders.
Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.
After getting fired the way he did?
Seriously doubtful.
