FUNNY

Funniest stuff I have read in a long time! Don’t stop at our story, keep reading….so funny!

How long should you try? Until.

There was one thing funny and factual about this article

The only fact was the Pioli quote. The only thing funny was the author’s pathetic attempt at portraying that he knows something, let alone everything, about Pioli because of a misinterpreted quote.

He references Babb’s article in the beginning, then goes on an incoherent ramble that has absolutely nothing to do with the article. Sensationalism breeding more sensationalism. Blind leading the blind.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

The Patriot Way This Article Is Now A Load of Shi*

Get a sense of humor

This stuff is hilarious!

My sense of humor is just fine

I just don’t see the humor in trying to write a scathing article based off of one misinterpreted quote.

Its funny to those blatant Pioli-haters that have already picked sides in this debate. Its ridiculously stupid to us that want facts and proof of wrong doing before we villianize anyone.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

Read more Drew Magary

and you’ll get it.

If you can sack groceries, you can sack a QB... right?

When will people learn, the Patriot way, is the same as every other way

Get a franchise QB, then don’t screw it up. A great QB makes coaches look good. You give a Jim Caldwell a Peyton Manning and Manning will make that guy look like a good coach. Belichick sucked in Cleveland without Brady, he’s a genius in NE with Brady.

Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.

Or

Assemble a dominant defense and you can win with Trent Dilfer or Big Ben.

How long should you try? Until.
- Jim Rohn

by Matt_Grbac on Jan 19, 2012 2:40 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Holy shit...

Did you just lump Dilfer and Ben together?

One is one his way to the HOF and is a top 5 QB, the other…fits your example.

And winning a SB with a Dilfer is a once in a 20 year proposition at best.

by kcsno56 on Jan 19, 2012 2:43 PM CST up reply actions

And that is two...

How many SB’s have there been? We’re coming up on 47, right?

by kcsno56 on Jan 20, 2012 10:18 AM CST up reply actions

I would say

Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Peyton, Rivers, Eli i would put ahead of Big Ben. He did not look as good with no run game as opposde to ELi looking good despite a running game.

But i get the point.

Ben would have to carry the team on his back more to be HOF worthy.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 2:52 PM CST up reply actions

This year? You mean when he was playing with a shoestring ankle?

Yeah, i would agree.

Ben > Eli although I would agree it’s closer than it used to be. Also, there isn’t a GM in the league that would trade Ben for Peyton or Rivers for that matter.

Rodgers, Brees, Brady are better, that’s it. There are a couple that you can say are in the same range like Rivers and Eli…still the point remains the same.

Using one of the all-time great defenses in a once-in-a-lifetime championship run

And a future HOF QB that plays at at his best in the biggest of games to claim that the best chance to win a super bowl isn’t an elite QB is almost as ridiculous as this article

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 2:49 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

He had one big frive against Zona

the D along with Willie parker and Bettis won the first one. Ben is a Franchise QB but i wouldnt say Elite to where he can carry a team on his back.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 2:54 PM CST up reply actions

Was that his only championship?

Did they not make runs through multiple playoffs? Three championship appearances (two wins) in Big Ben’s career. If that isn’t elite, I don’t know what is

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 2:58 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

A Chiefs fan trashing Big Ben...

Is just ridiculous. The guy is headed to the HOF and defines elite.

by kcsno56 on Jan 19, 2012 3:00 PM CST up reply actions

Not trashing just saying being a

Franchise QB and HOFer is 2 different things

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:03 PM CST up reply actions

In this case, Big Ben is both

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:07 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

I watch plenty

and if you think that Steeler D hasnt carried them to more wins than you seem to give them credit for then you need to see “more” football.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:20 PM CST up reply actions

Sorry i just see Elite as guys who consistently carry their team to wins

we all know about Indy, NE, and NO along with GB with ok or bad D, ok run games and have to win despite that. I am not saying he cant be Elite but he is not orhas not had the opportunity

Besides your argument means Cassel is a good QB and a pro bowler when the players around him elevated him more than him making him better

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:03 PM CST up reply actions

Ok. Since we are talking about yards and TDs only now

Ben is 6th in passing yards for active players, and 8th in TDs. Elite.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:18 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

My definition of Elite is

you can argue your spot for number one or two against any QB year in and year out.

By your definition who is Elite as of todays QB’s

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:38 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

Easy

Brady, Brees, both Mannings, Ben, and Rodgers.

All benefit from having championships sparked by their entire team’s performances when it mattered most. Ben is no different

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:47 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Can been make a argument for the number 1 or 2 spot

all the other qb’s (besides Eli) can. that is what i consider elite. At best he can claim as high as 4th and maybe low 6th or 7th.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:54 PM CST up reply actions

Depends on what you are basing the rankings off of

Statistically, that would have been Rivers last season. Ben always ranks closer to Tom Brady pre-2007 than he does Drew Brees. And remember, Brady didn’t become an “elite” QB statistically until they acquired Moss and Welker, and they haven’t won a superbowl since.

Championships? Ben would be number two behind Brady.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 6:31 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Consider his lack of a pass protecting o-line and his ability to extend plays

No one can say the offense didn’t put the steelers in a position to beat the Broncos this year in the playoffs. Ben has been doing it regularly through his career and carries that team to wins when he has to.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:02 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

You should count it

Because Ben’s dedication to try to keep his team in the hunt for a first round bye is elite-worthy. (Ultimately a detriment, but besides the point)

And the fact that the team was playing terribly for 3/4 of the game against Denver and Ben willed them back to tie it late, but didn’t get the chance to win it in overtime, should tell you all you need to know.

Ben is a top 5 QB in this league. Elite as they come.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:10 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

If it went by will power

Cassel would be Elite.

Anyway i am not trashing him i am just saying he has a good team around him built on running the ball and D. so it will be harder for him to prove he is HOF worthy and will not carry a team on his back week in and week out like some of the other QB’s people consider Elite.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:14 PM CST up reply actions

So let me get this straight

Your definition of “elite” is for QBs that ONLY have to carry their teams to wins week in and week out because of a glaring weakness on their team, like running game or defense?

So by your definition, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Kurt Warner, and SO many other all-time greats aren’t “elite”.

Yikes

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:22 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Warner did carry the Rams and we see the Cards without him

Montana did carry them week in and out.

And yes Troy and Terry benefited greatly from having a great team around them. It also was a different era of football so its apples to oranges really. thats like saying Jerry West would dominate todays NBA when the way it was played then would translate.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:32 PM CST up reply actions

Negative

Warner had Faulk (a HOFer) in St Louis and a defensive run through the playoffs to get to the superbowl (which they were beaten by a late Big Ben TD throw, by the way).

Montana had Roger Craig (should be HOFer) and a very stout defense through their super bowl runs.

Look at these “elite” QBs and their championships. Peyton has one super bowl, and it was sparked by a defense that came alive in the postseason. Same with Brees. Even Brady was “carried” by his defense in his first two superbowl wins.

Regardless, whether any if these QBs fit into your definition of “elite”, one thing is certain, they are all HOFers, just like Big Ben will be.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 3:45 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Those teams had just good enough D's

the Greatest show on turf, i dont remember hearing much about their D.

Those teams annihilatedgood and great D’s.

Every year the Steelers have gone deep into the playoffs they were top 5 in D. Have any of the other teams had that.

by km230015 on Jan 19, 2012 3:57 PM CST up reply actions

Clarification

Great defensive run through the playoffs in arizona.

And yet you can’t deny Faulk as a big part of St Louis success.

Green Bay had a top five defense just last year. NYG had a top ten defense in 2007.

I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

by RememberDelaney37 on Jan 19, 2012 4:28 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Been done twice in the modern age

Tampa and Ravens. Both had two of the best defenses EVER!

Ok, give me an all time top 5 defense and Cassel can win us a championship

Give me Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning, they can probably win us a championship.

So sick of the great defense and bad QB can win championship argument. Name me the great defenses that won championships. 85 bears, Ravens, Bucs. Any others?

Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.

by Fozzyboyd on Jan 19, 2012 4:27 PM CST up reply actions

and the problem with those great D's that won a SB is...

They only won one. It takes an elite QB to be in the hunt year in and year out.

by ValkRider on Jan 19, 2012 4:48 PM CST up reply actions

The problem with this "article" is where he gave credit

It’s not that Hoodie is the best coach in the league – it’s that the Patriots have one of the best QB’s in the league. Let’s see how well he does once Tom is done playing.
