Does Trent Richardson fit with the Chiefs?

This was discussed somewhat in
a thread yesterday, and the comment about me losing my mind notwithstanding, I speculated about just such a possibility. I said if Richardson fell to number 11 and the Chiefs did not trade down in order to get more picks, Richardson will be the man as the best available player. This would make Kansas City’s running game an absolute juggernaut. I would be absolutely okay with that scenario.

If you can bring in some OL FA's
I’m all for Richardson. Cassel is going to need all the ground support he can get.
I see it the same
If they can make some solid FA moves in terms of the line, then I could see this happening and support it wholeheartedly.
That said…if they are unable to bring in immediate starters through FA on the OLine, they HAVE to beef up the line with this pick.
Yea I feel like we need a new LG and RT
We can surely address this in FA or the second round even.
Albert, FA(2nd rd pick), Hudson, Lilja, FA(2nd rd pick).
asamoah?
I think the new G would replace Lilja either immediately or in the future. Asamoah seems set.
Ha, forgot about that guy
Probably cause he’s so good you never hear about him. I agree with you though. I don’t know if Lilja regressed because he moved to the left side or if he just sucks. I’m kind of leaning towards the latter.
Both Casey and Lilja regressed, was more noticable with those two right next to eachother

Ugh
Weigmann was TERRIBLE. He couldn’t keep from getting pushed back a yard or two every rush play.
You noticed them more this year than last due to the decline from both
It’s like when BRich is left alone.. he always stands out for his crappy play but when he has help the job can usually be done well enough

Need a line that can open holes for him
otherwise a waste
Uhhh...I hate looking at the 1983 Draft and seeing 2 HOF'ers picked after our washed up QB pick.
The pick would not be a future waste.
I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.

Hmmm....
Hypothetically, we could run the ball 40 times a game and pass 15-20, minimizing Cassel’s need to carry the team…could work.
never thought of it that way
i would still like a PA QB.. Someone like Orton?
The Chiefs led the league in rushing last year with Jamaal
and a fading Thomas Jones. Just think what we could be like Richardson and Charles! Of course the Chiefs are going to have to address the weak spots on the o-line, but I am sure the front office is aware of that. I don’t care what anybody says, that could be a very beneficial choice for the Chiefs.

Or you could trade back, take Miller who is a better ZBS fit

I am not against trading down for more picks.
If a team wants a player at number 11 and they want to make an attractive trade up with the Chiefs, so much the better.

Chiefs need to rely on a strong running game, but
without the threat of a passing game, defenses just stack the box. We have the threat on the outside. We need to elevate the offensive line with some bigger bodies, more atheletic lineman also. Good protection for a passing game, a few bigger/stronger lineman to elevate the running game, and then a back that can compliment Charles well. That takes us away from being one dimensional, which will then allow us to run the football. Balance is the key.
Teams are going to stack the box anyway
With cassell at qb. However,if we can grab DeCastro first, and Polk in the 2nd I feel we can impose are will in the run game. Add say a Bobby Massie in the 3rd at RT,and nt Paul Soliai in free agency, & I for one will feel pretty good about this team heading into next season.. Trading up for Rg3 being best case scenerio :)
GIVE JAMAAL THE DAMN BALL!!!!!

Go for it!!
TR is a BEAST!! Bigger(yes) and way faster than TJ. I would happily welcome him to KC.
How long should you try? Until.

Richardson fits with ANY team
the only question is, will he be the best player at a position of need for KC in round 1???
that’s yet to be seen…
I won’t hate the pick, as long as they address RT and backup S at some point
If they can lock down Carl Nicks then draft richarson they should.
Otherwise, I hope DeCastro is avail. Does any one think the Ohio state takle Adams will be avail in the second round? I’ve only seen him in a few games but each time he stands out as the best football player on the field.

adams is a fringe 1st rounder
So, there’s a chance he falls, but no guarantee

i like rich but only if he will be as good as Adrian Peterson which is hard to say he will
a good running back with a bad Oline = is a bad running back
but give a average/bad running back a dominant Oline = a good running back
and we already have a good running back in jamal and can get an average power back in free agency . . sure up the Oline and backs looks good!!
