i see grunhard is with weis at kansas. oline coach
will the chiefs ever draft a Qb in the first round, not since todd blackledge in 83. and the chiefs could of had marino. OH well atleast 65 toss power trap worked for KC, it should be wide open red. Hank stram still the man.
Great players...
rarely make good coaches. Not that Will would be a bad coach by any means, but just because he’s Will Shields doesn’t mean he would create an offensive line full of Will Shields clones. 9 times out of 10, guys with Hall of Fame careers had natural talent and ability that just can’t be passed along through coaching.
It’s like when the Royals were looking for a new piching coach a few months back. They weren’t looking for a former Cy Young winner, they specifically said they were looking for a guy who managed to have a career despite having mediocre stuff. Because that guy had to learn and study and adjust and adapt every time out. He couldn’t just walk out there and dominate with sheer talent. So a guy like that has a lot more he can teach to young players.

Good points
Coaching isn’t about being able to play a position, it’s about knowing the position. Knowing the position well enough and being able to convey that knowledge to others. Plus, you have to be able to analyze. Sometimes great players just can’t do that. Will is a pretty smart guy though, I could see him being a good coach.
Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.
