sweet

yeah, if he slips in the draft, he’d be great value!

Exactly my thinking

Nicknames I have coined:

Jamaal Charles = 'Haley's Comet'
Shaun Smith = 'Big Nasty'
Kelly Gregg = 'Old Gregg'

180 lbs?

maybe tall but can he tackle ?

by Steve_Chiefs on Jan 17, 2012 7:17 PM CST up reply actions

Since all they do is run the ball in the SEC

you have to be able to tackle

Men succeed when they realize that their failures are the preparation for their victories.

This is fantastic news.

A potential need that we can again fill on the cheap because the player decided to use one of the most harmless drugs in the world.

Juston Houston 2.0

I think he will only fall to the middle of the 1st round though. If Jenkins can be drafted in the mid-rounds, so can Kirkpatrick. The Houston situation was a little different, the combine and most draft day events were over. Kirkpatrick on the other hand, has a chance to rebuild his reputation. I say he is a mid to late first rounder.

So basically where he was projected to go?
I think he will only fall to the middle of the 1st round though

He couldve gone top 10

Especially after a good combine like Julio jones last year

If he falls into the second we take him

Even if we re-sign Carr. That’d be amazing value, and we’d get great depth.

I wouldn't say stupid

Hes probably hurting after a season of football, and the buds are the best form of quick exchange pain reliever.

Just gotta live with the consequences of actions made in a stupid world is more like it.

And put him where?

Flowers-Starter
Carr-Starter
Arenas- Established at Nickel
Brown- Only guy I can see him passing in the depth chart

Even so, as far as depth goes, he’s not going any later than the second. He’s just too good. And drafting for depth in the second/third when we have multiple positions (RT & NT) that need starters just doesn’t make much sense to me. Plus, after seeing Sabby and Rashard ‘GodAwful" Langford lose us games, I’d much rather draft for safety depth than corner depth at this time.

There are two kinds of worries - those you can do something about and those you can't. Don't spend any time on the latter.

You're assuming we re-sign Carr

And even if we do, we can still use the depth. You saw what happened to the Giants secondary this season, you can never have enough good corners, especially with the NFL transitioning into a passing league.

by SoCalChief17 on Jan 17, 2012 3:39 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Yep

I’m sure Romeo would find a way to keep him on the field.

Kirkpatrick is a take every day of the week

He could possibly Play every position in the 2ndary

Very well coached and besides this hiccup has a clean record, these kinds of players are pretty rare any 2ndary could use them

It's reckless behavior, has nothing to do with intelligence

I know PhDs who smoke weed, I think they’re all pretty intelligent people.

Are they risking millions and possibly derailing their entire careers by doing it?

Therein lies the lack of intelligence.

It's no fun if I have to explain it.

by TRSChief on Jan 17, 2012 7:36 PM CST up reply actions

Here, let me help you guys out a little.
Intelligence: 1 The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.

His application of the knowledge of what will happen if he gets caught is severely lacking.

Judgement is a form of intelligence. Don’t try to pretend that it isn’t. Intelligence is comprised of many components. That’s one of them. And he’s lacking.

It's no fun if I have to explain it.

by TRSChief on Jan 17, 2012 8:14 PM CST up reply actions

So he does not want to go to some loser NFL team

and he gets busted and Viola he gets to play for the Cowboys or Patriots

sounds smart to me

by Steve_Chiefs on Jan 17, 2012 8:33 PM CST up reply actions

Thinking as an employer.

I would be more prone to hire a guy that tested positive for a drug test then someone who has a criminal record because of it. I guess it really doesn’t make much of a difference. One guy just didn’t get caught I guess. Nothing to see here, moving along.

by GenericBrand on Jan 17, 2012 6:12 PM CST up reply actions

Maybe.

But in the NFL’s case, I’m not really sure it makes a difference. A lot more is tolerated in that job market, especially for high level players.
