Just to be humiliated by New England.

Whatever happens with Tebow here

at least he can rest easy knowing he’s a far better human being than Tom Brady.

A guy who doesn't think a guy abandoning women they've made pregnant are virtuous or upstanding.

I don’t care how well you throw a football. You get a woman pregnant and dump her, you’re a douche bag.

by bossmanham on Jan 14, 2012 9:18 PM CST up reply actions

He didn't know

Go read all the news articles, neither one of them knew she was pregnant when they broke up. Unless Tom Brady has a time machine, i believe “who are you to judge” is a valid point.

by Miles Collins on Jan 14, 2012 9:20 PM CST up reply actions

Well hindsight would say

It justified itself when he went on to marry this other “woman” and have a child with her. Divorces happen every hour of every day. If he didn’t love her anymore, he didn’t love her anymore, and who are you to say he should.

by Miles Collins on Jan 14, 2012 9:24 PM CST up reply actions

Then he shouldn't have impregnated her.

And when he found out, he should have manned up.

by bossmanham on Jan 14, 2012 9:25 PM CST up reply actions

If she would have broke up with him before they found out about her pregnancy, would we be having this conversation?

by Miles Collins on Jan 14, 2012 9:27 PM CST up reply actions

so you're saying he should have married her because she was pregnant, rather than for love?

You’ve just screwed up the spirit of marriage more than a gay couple ever could. Congrats. The girlfriend had his kid, I’m sure he’s at least financially supporting the kid. Game over. You’re Brady bashing borders on the ridiculous here.

2012 Chiefs Draft Picks by Falcon58: G DeCastro 1st round, NT Ta'amu 2nd round or OT Adcock 2nd/3rd round, TE Egnew 3rd round, RB Ganaway 5th/6th, QB Case Keenum 5th/6th. Resign: Carr, Bowe, Orton, McClain, Gordon(in that order). Trade Dorsey for picks, promote Gordon to DT/DE.

by Falcon58 on Jan 15, 2012 1:12 AM CST via mobile up reply actions

Yeah, he should have manned up.

Shouldn’t have had sex with her if he didn’t love her. People treat love as an immediate feeling and if that feeling doesn’t last, they give up.

Sometimes people who get married LEARN to love each other through patience, forbearance, and experiences they go through.

But I don’t expect this Hollywood influenced nation to follow those gasp traditional family values and virtuous male behavior. I was just pointing out that, while he lost a football game, Tebow does do that stuff. And that’s why so many people hate him. He shows them what they should be and they can’t stand it.

by bossmanham on Jan 15, 2012 1:16 AM CST up reply actions

I don't think it's nearly that simple

There are lots of good fathers who aren’t married to their children’s mother.

There are lots of terrible fathers who are married to their children’s mother.

Tom Brady could be a terrible father. He could be a great father. We have no idea.

Todd Haley lost 7 of his last 15 games by 20 or more points. It was time for him to go.

by joplin chiefs fan on Jan 14, 2012 9:24 PM CST up reply actions

I made no judgment about that.

However, not being married to his child’s mom is a strike already.

And the Tebow supporters can’t explain his lack of performance, the argument turns to how good his character is…as if that has anything to do his name in the running as a top/elite QB.

ppl talk about us getting Manning…well why not push for Brees if he’s a FA? I know management won’t go for either one though, which is stupid because either one would make us so much better but I guess Pioli has seen Cassel win games for us and wants to continue seeing that…sigh

exactly. we have a ton of weapons just no qb to get them the dang ball

beef up the o-line this offseason and we could score like we did with Vermeil as HC. but we don’t because pioli still thinks cassel is good.

Only if he has time

Cassel is “good”, as long as he had a ton of time in the pocket

by robertChiefsFan on Jan 14, 2012 10:07 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

he's ok...he panics way to quick even when he does have time

he doesn’t scan the field either…he locks on to one receiver. if not open he either throws it to rb for no gain or takes a sack..he shows he can be “good” at times, but overall he’s not that good. If he could play the way he did against SD when he was actually going through all his progressions and making some good reads/throws we may have a shot, but he is too inconsistent.

by jcrunninwild on Jan 14, 2012 10:09 PM CST up reply actions

That's much of criticism with Alex Smith and many quarterbacks over the years.

Fact is that there is a system to where quarterbacks at this level can be successful if worked into a system tailored towards their abilities and aimed at progressing their talent.

That’s exactly what I saw in 2010. We had an offensive system with structure through most of the season. Cassel flourished to what is probably his best at points. At points, not close to his best when he struggled with the system or other teams were able to disrupt him.

There is a way to get this team working. The FO and coaching staff just need to make a choice at some point. The fact that they haven’t is what kind of makes me think Cassel’s time is limited.

Wow. Just wow. What a whoopin'.

Tebow and the Broncos are the complete definition of lucky and medicore. I’m sorry, but the Patriots showed us who the true Broncos are. Tim Tebow is not the QB of the future, a backup at best…maybe. No running game either and pretty much a bad passing defense. Even though the Broncos won the AFC West, I still feel like the Chiefs have the best chance of these 4 teams to win and be good after viewing tonight’s performance.

Said that in the game thread.

That I was rooting for the 49ers, because that’s one less team potentially looking for a QB, if they win at least one playoff game. And the way they won it, even more so.

Wasn’t talking about Manning specifically, though.

by Tarkus on Jan 15, 2012 1:33 AM CST up reply actions

Why the frick would we care about Manning, or want him?

So we can use him for his last 2 or 3 years, before we are forced to rebuild again, just to end up in the same place we always seem to be in…….Starting over? NO WAY to Manning, or any unproven draft choice (not that there would be one available to us when we pick anyway) All the stupid assed RGIII talk, etc. is so frickin idiotic, I am starting to think some of you enjoy the perpetual mediocrity, as long as we are building, blah, blah…….. which never ends. Do ya ever learn?

by WyoChief1 on Jan 15, 2012 1:51 AM CST up reply actions

I'm not as pro-Manning as a lot of people here.

But why would getting him mean we’d be rebuilding in two or three years?

by Tarkus on Jan 15, 2012 1:54 AM CST up reply actions

Because with a better qb and a few OL upgrades

This is a playoff team with a great chance at making the super bowl. We can draft a midround qb and groom them to take over when Manning retires. Thus avoiding the rebuild concerns. Most of these guys are in their prime or entering it in the next year or two. Win now or start over in 4-6 years should be the concern.
