Saints Vs. 49ers: Divisional Round Starts In San Francisco
It's the divisional round of the playoffs. The New Orleans Saints go on the road to play the San Francisco 49ers. The game is at 3:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) and it's on FOX.
The Saints are the rare road favorite in the second round of the playoffs and most are expecting them to win. The 49ers defense is very, very solid and could make them earn it though.
Here's a link to SB Nation's story stream on the game where there will be a bunch of highlight videos.
This is your open thread. Who ya got?

The way the game is going right now,
it appears that who plays better defense today will win!
Nope. Offense wins.
You have to score more points than the other team to win the game.
Always a fan, win or lose. Go Chiefs!
The defense might not let them score much today

their offense aint half bad either
such a difference 1 year makes
What a difference the right HC makes.
But poor Haley didn’t have an entire offseason to work his magic.
I predict the 49ers will score first, with a TD pass.
Aside from that, I’d like to see the 49ers win. One less team potentially looking for a QB if they win at least one playoff game.
im sure they can
but 2 turnovers in the first quarter is what a top 5 d can do. keep the Saints scoreless, that is what a top 5 defense can do.
Was Smith ever a cassell? He actually played in college, then as a young pro. The truth is almost every quarterback in the league is further along in their development as rookies than cassell was this year.

smith, 4 OC in the first 4 years of his pro (or was it 3?)
fans hated him. People said he lack an arm, decision, or any skill at all.
sounds familiar?
I just meant to say I wonder if being on the field as a leader of a team during one’s early development (I.e. college) is an absolute necessity for success at the pro level, IR if that’s something one can learn later on.

Brees does not throw interception!
This is why I want the Chiefs defense intact while adding few more key players. Defense wins championship!

Peyton factor = Go 49ers!
Even if there is the slightest chance that Peyton is healthy and is released the 49ers would be one of a few teams that would potentially make more sense than the Chiefs… thus, we should want Alex Smith to do well in the playoffs. :)
Brees, who would normally look that Safety off
Made a very poor attempt at doing so with that very slight shoulder fake.

After being picked 1st overall over Rodger, nobody thought he would become good QB let along a decent until the 2011 season.

Why don’t you want him in KC? I don’t think he can make that throw nor want him in KC
by jcrunninwild on Jan 14, 2012 6:03 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
Because he's inconsistent.
He’s made great throws of all kinds, including “that” one. He just doesn’t do it enough. He could also be better with pocket presence, reading defenses and going through his progressions. He’s good at times doing all those things, but again, not with any kind of consistency.
This.
There was too many “wtf was that?” with Cassel more than “Hell, Yeah!”
I would rather say the latter more often than the former when it comes to the KC Chiefs QB!

I usually go to NFL.com
I just click on certain game and it will take me to the game center and click on the highlight just below the scorebox. There’s usually numbers of highlights on the right side.
For example, I just went to NFL.com and clicked on today’s game on top of their page, clicked on highlights and about 9 highlights for the game were available. (There are post game videos as well…I just ignore them)
Hope this helps.

pioli's plan
so apparently the 49ers proved you can win a playoff game with a good, not great, quarterback, a great defense, and great special teams against an explosive offensive team. this gives credability to pioli’s plan to create an elite defense and a good, not great, offense in the age of great qb play.
The question is can you win multiple playoff games, leading to a Superbowl win.

Who gives em credit?
When they win, it’s Tebow, when they lose it’s cuz of Fox,McCoy,the defense, no Brian Dawkins, suns too bright and THEN they get to Tebow
I don't see what's strange about that

After seeing the non-impact Baldwin made this year, I wish Pioli had of made the deal with NO to get their 2nd rd last year and 1st rd this year
Could have had two 1st rd’ers this year to trade up for a QB and still got a decent WR in rd 2 with the NO pick
yeah, they ended up doing that deal two or three picks later with NE since KC said no and they drafted Ingram
yeah, especially since Torrey Smith would have still be sitting there in rd 2 with the NO pick and an extra 1st this year
I sure hope Baldwin turns into an All-Pro…

He could make all the throws
Because running fast in a straight line and jumping high in the air
is real important when it comes to playing QB in the NFL.

If you get a chance, you should definitely rewatch it.
The first half was just as exciting as the second.
Todd Haley lost 7 of his last 15 games by 20 or more points. It was time for him to go.
