I found this article interesting though all is purely speculation this early on. Likewise, it provides potential moves and transactions with logical explanations that for some I would agree with and others maybe not so much.
To start off, this article puts DB Brandon Carr at #37 on the list citing the dynamic duo both he and Brandon Flowers bring to the defense and predicts Carr will be signed to a long term contract. I tend to agree with this and would welcome signing him long term as I'm sure many would agree.
Interestingly enough, it has TE Jermichael Finley at #11 on the list and predicts that if Finley is able to test the FA market, many teams will be interested (of course) but that ultimately it would be the Chiefs who would land him. What intrigues me about the prospect of Finley is that he has made it clear he wants demands met for a contract in 2012 and furthermore, both he and his agent tried to appeal that he has been used as a WR, not TE, on offense in the case that Green Bay uses the franchise tag. Why does this matter? If tagged as a WR he would be guaranteed $9.4 million than if he was franchised as a TE $5.4 million (a difference of $4million!!). I believe his appeal was shot down but the point is it exposes his demands for this offseason and puts pressure on Green Bay to come to terms with Finley. In addition, it's rumored the franchise tag henges on what they do with Matt Flynn. Using the tag on Flynn would cost $14.4 million for a backup. Yet without the franchise tag it will be difficult for GB to re-sign him.
Lastly, WR Dwayne Bowe is atop the list at #7 and is predicting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a potential landing spot for Bowe. I can't say I don't agree with their logic, but I also hope deep down that the Chiefs are looking into all angles to keep Bowe here. Likewise, I hope Dwayne Bowe is looking into all possibilities of staying in Kansas City, too.
A few other notables that I found interesting (and you may too):
#50 - Laurent Robinson to the Chicago Bears? Talk about an underrated talent and a perfect landing spot as an immediate target for Jay Cutler.
#49 - Ryan Grant to the New York Jets? Look out Tomlinson.
#42 - Peyton Hillis to the Colts? Meh.
#41 LaRon Landry to the Oakland Raiders? Immediate impact in the Raider's backfield that I don't want to see as a Chiefs fan!
#40 - Jason Campbell to the New York Jets? Upgrade to Mark Sanchez? Absolutely. The bigger question is, if this move happens, will Campbell finally find the coaching consistency he's lacked throughout his career? That's looking grim right now with Tony Sparano brought on as the RB coordinator and potential OC (if Todd Haley isn't hired as the Passing Coordinator...hmmm).
#30 - Matt Flynn to the Washington Redskins? Like KC, they need a QB and I tend to agree they likely can't afford to move up enough in the draft to take a flier on a QB so this would make sense if Green Bay can't hold on to him.
#27 - Micahel Bush to the New York Giants? Major upgrade to Brandon Jacobs. Talk about a scary RB tandem (Ahmad Bradshaw and Bush)! Would I like to see Bush in KC? Sure! Do I think he would land here? Not likely. If Brandon Jacobs is replaced though, where does he go?
#9 - Vincent Jackson to the Chicago Bears? Fine by me. Antonio Gates is obviously in a declining stage to some extent. Removing the threat that V-Jax brings to the field would bring a smile to any Chiefs' fans face when dreaming of the 2012 AFC West race. Also, I wonder the possibility of Chicago picking up both Laurent Robinson and Vincent Jackson. Jay Cutler would immediately be put on a stage to prove he's among the QB elites (an opinion many already hold of Cutler, but this possibility would end all argument that he's not)!
#1 - Drew Brees to stay with the New Orleans Saints? Or open to the possibility of coming to Kansas City to take direct shots at his previous franchise, the San Diego Chargers? Okay, that won't happen but it would be a lot cooler if it did!
