The Last Time Tyler Palko Played With Steve Breaston

Stay connected for news and updates

On second thought, maybe QB Matt Cassel missing Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills wouldn't be such a bad thing*.

If Cassel can't go -- and we do expect him to play, by the way -- we can only hope QB Tyler Palko throwing to WR Steve Breaston is as productive as it was the last time they played together

I didn't know this but, as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes, Palko was the quarterback and Breaston was a receiver in a Pennslyvania 2002 high school football all-star game.

Palko's numbers: 3-of-7 for 172 yards. All three completions went to Breaston which included 66-yard and 70-yard touchdown receptions. They were named to various player of the year lists for that season in Pennsylvania.

The story included this quote from Palko on Breaston:

"He's unbelievable. He's Superman. I don't know if everyone knows how great of an athlete he is. I think he proved it tonight."

(*Yes of course I would prefer Cassel play this game.)
